Mo scott , Total War Games are totally different to Age of Empire series.

Aye, radically different. The TW games have more in common with Civilization than the AoE series.

No the TW series are waaaaay better IMO.They have a map campaign(the strategy part)...and you can do battles between armies(battle part of the game)

I hope the AI and formation handling have been improved. There will probably be AI mods forthcoming, but it'll be a while before that happens I'm sure.

Excellent, really looking forward to it. Played both demos and I loved them, and they run well enough in my aging rig. I'm very glad they are selling it through Steam; otherwise I might not have been able to get it.

I've been debating whether or not to buy this through Steam or not. I like having physical media to install from, but on the other hand I want to support online distribution from developers, circumventing the publisher. Oh, the dilemma.

I alrady pre-loaded it.Looks like i'm buying through Steam😀

You have to pay for the game before it will let you Prel-load, yes?

I think I'm going to buy through Steam, but I don't get paid until the 15th, so I'll be spending some time DLing the game after I buy the game. 😛

Dates of seen have been the 14-17th. I think most places are releasing them on the 14th.And no I preloaded the game before I bought it.

I was able to get my hands on a copy early and the game is pretty fun. I was a big fan of Rome:TW and this one does not disappoint, although the changes are minor. This game is demanding though, my 4400 and 7800GTX is getting a work out trying to run this.

Blues News has the game releasing TODAY!! for the US??? WOW! I am really debating the steam thing too. I like the concept a lot (games travel with you online). I will miss the manuals, etc... We should add a poll to this thread (steam / no steam).

weird, originally, it took me to an order screen every time I tried to preload it. Now it lets me preload it just fine.

Well if your having huge 10,000 men battles with all eye candy up...yeah...try turning shadows down...it gave me huge performance boasts...well at least for the demo.

...wow I just realized it took 11gigs.

Well, its all preloaded now. Gonna buy the game on Weds. 🙂

Dang, I just got a Saxon empire started in Barbarian Invasion too. . .

I Preloaded too. However I will wait until I see a couple of reviews before buying, but considering the series track record, I think this one will come out quite well. 🙂

Damn Inquisitors!

They walk around whacking my family members, accusing them of heresy. Bastard wiped out 3 of my worth generals before my assassin made him pay the price! Burn the witches and heretics as soon as you see them!

If you liked Rome:TW, you will like this game. Graphics is much better but the AI is still a work in progress (CA has promised a patch to fix this). The game seems to have a more epic scale. There are more units (there are gunpowder units later) and variety than Rome. Economics is a bit different too. Overall, the game does not feel too different from Rome, but Rome was a great game to start with, and enhancing that makes M2 even a better game.

I plan to overthrow the Pope . . . 🙂

I'm buying it this weekend.... too busy during work days to do anything. I hope my staff doesn't make any appointments for me this Saturday 🙂

Oh I plan on doing something much worse than that... oh yes he will pay.

EDIT: CA is releasing a patch in about 2 weeks.

I am done with the game ;( it has bugs and performance issues. I would wait for the patch but the European version is buggy as hell ;( ...

AI still a bit weird. But the patch should fix that when it's out. I really like how they went back to the video ideas...ransom....and other diplomatic things.Plus religion is a nice challenge. With Inquistors accusing people left ro right. Also it makes your military ambitions limited since a attack on a Christian nation means your screwed basically.

I'm going to take over the Papal States🙂

I assume those who buy it through Steam will have it auto-updated through Steam?
I don't want to deal with the same crap that NWN2 Direct2Drive users are right now, with patches lagging a few weeks behind.

Edit - Its funny, its 15 Nov now, and Steam still says its unreleased. 😛 Its 0530 on 15 Nov here though, they must be a few time zones away.
