Yeah, I've never played online, I should, but I haven't. I like playing SP, because I like the empire building aspects.
But MarcVenice, what's your opinion [on the music]?

I said it before, the music is annoying in mtw vanilla, but in the new campaigns it's not that annoying. Besides, music is easily turned of, in many games the music annoys me to no end, so I can't say MTW sucks because of it.

I'm trying the norwegian campaign on very hard/ very hard... and it's very hard. God, how did the british isles become an economic powerhouse, I can't make any money for the life of me. None of the settlements i've sacked have anything either. I've taken over about 3/4th of the scots cities and they have a bigger army than me still and seemingly more monies. I typically don't use diplomats but I can't even build one because I dont have enough money to get the proper buildings. I suspect i'm going to have to use some diplomacy this time... I need trade rights and alliances.

This one time the scots attacked me near some mountains with an army rated 7-2 or so stronger than mine. So placed my army at the bottom of a sheer cliff and thought they wouldn't be able to reach me. The AI somehow found a path around the cliff and I saw a massive army snaking its way towards me. Luckily I moved my troops to a narrow corridor and managed to win. I wish they had a record function for these things.

Playing as Norway was difficult. You'll need to build financial buildings first, and establish trade rights with everyone but your current target. Markets, farms, and ports are always the first buildings I build in any Medieval 2 game. Establishing an early financial base is critical later.

I wanted to do that but the scots decided to attack me by the 3rd turn. I dont think this campaign is gonna end well. I killed william wallace, i should quit while i'm ahead.

Finally managed to pick it up at EB: last copy. Got started on the America's campaign first and after 20 turns, it appears that I completely underestimated the "horde" effect of the natives. While I am "raping" (there is no better word) the enemy as Spanish, the hordes are swarming all my captured settlements; I all except 1 or 2 (including the original settlement) towns, and my armies are getting worn down. Loving it so far, especially the "zoomed" in view where there is more than 2 cities in an area of land the size of france.

FREEEEEEEEEDOMMMMMM!!!!!

Anyways, the TW series has always had great music, this release being no exception. For you sound aficionados if you don't like this music you should hang out with Bilo, he my brother, he a retard.

mine didn't have a music disc like the original did.

Anyway, that norwegian campaign is insane. I never had enough money from my economy so i had to keep sneaking in raids and sacking cities. I gambled early and sent two ships with an army to london and i finally had enough money to build stuff. I usually like conquering entire maps but the victory condition was enough this time.

Anybody know what empire:total war is coming?
