I don't know what this is really about (just did a quick skim), but from what I understand it is pretty uncommon to get pregnant from physically forced rape. I wouldn't say impossible, but even if it did happen I'm not sure the unborn child should be killed for it. If our society wasn't so fucked up and shooting babies out by the millions and tossing them in dumpsters and such...I would say any child resulting from rape that was unwanted should go into foster care (in the case where the pregnancy has a high chance (30%+?) of killing the mother then yes, I could accept abortion as an option). But the system is so screwed up and massively overloaded that I'm not sure there currently is any good solution.

Also what counts as rape? A 16yr old with a 14yr old? 20 with 16?!! That's rape in the US, so yes pregnancy is equally likely there... originally I think rape was more along the lines of grabbing a women and physically forcing them to have sex. In those instances I think pregnancy is uncommon (I had done a report on this for school back in the day, it's just what I recall and no longer have the relevant data to prove anything).

Unfortunately today there's quite a lot of people taking advantage of younger children (toddlers to teens), and in many cases they don't need to physically force sex (instead tricking them, taking advantage, or breaking their mind). In these cases pregnancy would seem equal to consensual sex as well.

Even if these people consider only the forced sex of older females the only legitimate rape, I still wouldn't say pregnancy is impossible, but I would say more rare than consensual sex...since in these cases the physically forced nature of the encounter does seem to change things.

Well, obviously this means rape is ok...so let's just let them all out of jail and keep throwing the non-violent drug offenders in the slammer.

do not confuse statutory rape and forcible rape.

20 years to 16 years isn't statutory rape in every state either...

Say what?

All I know is that everybody is shittin bricks over teenage sex and you go to jail for it. If you're not 18-21 its rape...that's what I've been hearing.

I really don't know cause I'm old and still a virgin. And everybody is having kids by 14-15 anyway...and then everything is rape unless you got some old dudes saying it isn't, and that there are no children.

Now I'm just like:

no, everybody isn't having kids at 14-15...

stop generalizing and start researching. Each state has it's own laws regarding statutory rape.

being old and a virgin is your problem, stop projecting.

I thought being a virgin meant I wasn't projecting?

Statutory? Dem be fancy words...let me dig out the dictionary.

I know plenty of people having kids at 14-15. They have a couple TV shows about how cool it is too.

My opinion doesn't matter, but I think kids shouldn't be until late 20's.

Define plenty. The term is subjective. And while you're at it, define what you mean by "know", acquaintance, family members, friends....etc....

I agree, late 20's is a good time to start.

Friends, family, and acquaintances.

One of them is now on kid 5 before 26 and had serious complications from having so many kids so early.

I'm not even sure if we are disagreeing about something or not...

This thread was very vague, but there were some dudes saying that it's impossible to get pregnant from rape. I disagree, but the US definition of rape is all kinds of whack and I guess I don't know whats naughty or nice (I know what I think should be right). I just recall that in a physically forced sexual encounter there does seem to be a reduced chance of pregnancy...but even if that's how these guys were qualifying their statement, it still wouldn't be true that no pregnancy ever happens.

I'm pretty sure I wrote that before, but maybe not. Damn quantum theory and shit. I think the cat is still alive, cause grumpy cats are cool. I don't wanna have to take care of it though.

What is the US definition of rape? I assume you're now talking about forcible rape..

The problem with the two people in the article is that they've more than likely never had anyone they know affected by sexual assault, or they just lack the empathy towards their fellow man to give a shit.

Rape is physically traumatizing in the here and now, it's psychologically and emotionally traumatizing in the long term. If a woman is raped and pregnancy occurs, she has every right to terminate that pregnancy.

The two guys in the article do not believe this should be allowed...IIRC, it's been a while since I read Mr. Akin's original statements.

Chance of pregnancy would very much depend on both parties involved. How fertile is the woman? How fertile is the man? Factors these guys neither acknowledged or addressed.

This pic came out around the same time:

Officially? I have no idea. I keep hearing crap about how people 2-4 years age difference is rape. Again seems like any kind of sex under 18 is rape...especially if somebody over 18 going at it with somebody under 18.

Honestly I don't see why kids can't just keep it in their pants until 18 but It doesn't seem absurd to hear about an 18 and 16 yr old, or 17 and 20. But the news and internet go apeshit anytime it happens.

Hell there was story on here just a few days ago where a 16yr old got arrested as a pedophile for looking to have sex with a 14yr old. Honestly I think 14 is to young (and 16)...but what do I know.

Edit: Oh it was actually a 19yr old soliciting sex from a 14yr old.

Now you're talking about statutory rape....

Google is your friend, it will also help you find laws in your own state:

So wait are you saying that not all rape is RAPE? :sneaky:

wow, you're so sneaky

No. Forcible rape is ALWAYS rape. Statutory rape is one state may not be statutory rape in another.

It was only a matter of time before your woman hating punk ass found the thread.

Yeah the emotional/mental problems should be an obvious given and understandable (well for normal people, I don't understand it but I don't understand a lot of things)...this didn't seem to be the issue. Maybe it was.

My real objective was to start a discussion since the first two posts had none. Since this is the internet and I remember knowing something about something related to what I think somebody else is talking about I could add a response.

But now that I have more information I know that I don't really seem to know...or something. I should probably back out of this thread now since I'm pretty sure this is a topic that has those emotional emotion stuff and I don't do emotions. A little trolling is healthy for your immune system by I don't want to start a rage fest.

I think I'm rambling now cause I totally forgot what we were talking about. I haven't slept in a few days and the last thing I remember eating was some old dried out ramen I found in the bottom of the sink. Must have spilled it whenever I cooked last. Anyway...

Me gain some knowledge? Pretty sure that's somebody else job.

Sleep? Ha! Sleep is for sissies...you know how many forums I visit? I'm in the perfect condition right now to post some incoherent ramblings. I'm gonna go start a thread somewhere.

Don't worry though, I think I've got some old valentines candy or something laying around...once I get a good sugar high I'll be back to normal and come for a visit.

But not 91yrs or 8 months? Your statement appears to be an oxymoron...not bound by age but then you give limits. Are you stating a fact or is there some kind of implication here?

I have never seen a better example of a thread that makes you more dumberer the more you read.
