Has anyone picked up Mechwarrior: Mercenaries..I am thinking about picking it up, but I would like to hear some reviews first from some of the people here 🙂

Agreed...and with that:

Top 10 Things I Love about MechAssault:

10. Overheating only causes weapons to shut down (until they cool off) instead of the whole darn mech.
9. Still important to match mech class with task at hand.
8. Swivel swivel swivel...swivel swivel swivel
7. The control scheme is so good...you'll forget that keyboards exist at all.
6. Rockets + Buildings = Loud Noise Go BOOM!
5. Everytime you drop an enemy mech, as it explodes in a white-hot ball of flame and electricity, feel free to remind your Xbox Live opponent "There can be ONLY ONE!"
4. "Remember Daniel-san: Walk right side road...safe. Walk left side..safe. But you walk in middle...sooner or later....40 ton mech come along. Then you get the squish *squitch*...just like grape."

This game is freakin killer! Too bad I can't say the same thing about Ghost Recon. That's alright, but I was hoping for more. Oh well, take it back tommorow and get UC.

There's the other Tom Clancy game that's actually worth getting that comes out the 19th 🙂
 
I hope I can scrounge up the extra dough to pick this one up, if not it'll be in my stocking this year 🙂

I probably can buy myself one game before xmas, just gotta decide between MA and Splinter Cell.

Well that sucks. If that's not a blatant attempt to get people to sign up for Live I dunno what is.

Live is really cool, but it can't replace blowing the sh*t out of your buddies.

It does have 2 player split screen....not just Live OR System Link

MechAssault arrived a little while ago and its awesome, Online & offline, definately a top notch title. 😀

So it would seem to be the best attempt to get you to get Live except that it supposedly lets you use the voice communicator over a LAN. If you Live in a college dorm that is wired, you could possibly play this lag free with 7 other players.
 
Picked up an Xbox tonight. Hopefully I can find a Live Kit tomorrow. Tried preordering tonight but everyone was sold out. I'll be picking up Mechassault also.
 
Plenty of stores in my area have MA, going to pick it up tomorrow. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to preorder a Live kit. Nobody wants to let me preorder one so I have to be first at the stores tomorrow morning. Bah!
 
I'm enjoying the HECK out of the single player game!
Wow...all the little gameply touches this thing has.
The eye-candy.
The pacing.

My only quibble (small one): I wish the controls were fully customizable.
None of the 3 included control schemes is exactly right for my playing style.

Even so, if you own an Xbox: GET THIS GAME!!!
 
Just opened my MechAssault and played it for a couple hours - DAMN!!! That is one hell of a kick @$$ game. Glad I own a XBox 🙂

BTW - is that chick the same voice from Halo? I swear it sounds like her. I just expect her to say "Watch out Captain" everytime she comes on the com
 
Today was a very bad day for me to go into Best Buy, at least for my wallet.

First...I had heard X-Box Live rocked with the Mech assault game, so I had to buy the starter kit and Mech Assault (last one too!)

Then I was walking around and spotted Resident Evil Zero.....so I had to get that too.

Then I saw a pre order box for Metroid Prime.

Yes, I had to get that too...🙂

Actually I haven't even opened Mech Assault yet....I got the Live service going and was having too much fun playing Moto GP.....wow it is fun....people crashin' everywhere!

I can see I won't get much done that is useful this month or anytime soon, as AC2 comes out on the 22nd.....jeez game overload.
 
Glad to see all you guys are having fun on Live. If I didn't have a problem with my Live kit, I would have been online too. I still have to swap this for a new one and I was not able to stop by the store today. I did by MA that day (Friday evening) and I have been playing it for several hours with my brothers. DM is great with two people but I can't wait to get all 8 on Live.
