Smartwatches actually pushed me to getting a regular nice watch. I don't think any smartwatch is quite there yet in terms of what I want/expect, but I am now accustomed to having the time on my wrist. The convenience of that alone is worth having one.

I imagine watches will finally die off when everyone is using contact lenses with tiny built in computers and HUDs that display the time in the lower right hand corner.

True, but it is a thread discussing smartwatches at its heart, isn't it?

The title of the thread is "Mech watch death thread" from a guy who started multiple watch hating threads. :thumbsdown:

Is it too difficult to spell "mechanical"? :D
