I am going to buy a 92mm to 120mm fan adpter for my Swifty MCX4000 and put a YS-Tech fan running at 125.5 CFM. Yeah, I am aware it will sound like a jet engine at 45 dBa. I just hope it won't be that much of a whiny sound since it is larger circumference, which i have been led to believe is not quite as bad.
Has anybody out there done this and would you mind sharing you results? Also, I wouldn't be opposed to buying another heatsink that might benefit more from using the 120mm fan. Any suggestions? I just want to see how high of an OC I can get with pure air cooling. I'm also setting up a water-cooled system and want to compare the two results. I guess I'm just trying to get the best air-cooled set-up I can buy, money is no object. So bring on any suggestions.
Sorry if this thread has strayed a tad from the title....
