MCX4000 and a 120mm fan...or perhaps another HS? Any suggestions?

I am going to buy a 92mm to 120mm fan adpter for my Swifty MCX4000 and put a YS-Tech fan running at 125.5 CFM. Yeah, I am aware it will sound like a jet engine at 45 dBa. I just hope it won't be that much of a whiny sound since it is larger circumference, which i have been led to believe is not quite as bad.

Has anybody out there done this and would you mind sharing you results? Also, I wouldn't be opposed to buying another heatsink that might benefit more from using the 120mm fan. Any suggestions? I just want to see how high of an OC I can get with pure air cooling. I'm also setting up a water-cooled system and want to compare the two results. I guess I'm just trying to get the best air-cooled set-up I can buy, money is no object. So bring on any suggestions.

Sorry if this thread has strayed a tad from the title....

If you want the best air-cooled stup you can get without regard for money, why not throw that obsolete MCX4000 away and start with a modern heatsink like the Thermalright SP94 or SLK947? They are much more efficient heastsinks than your obsolete Swiftech and are fairly easy to fit a 120mm fan onto just by modifying the fan retention clips.

Here's some info. I built a new machine and got a case that I put 2 120mm fans in. It is fairly loud but far from ear splitting. I get so involved in my games I don't seem to notice them. I have the case sitting on the desk beside me, but I would recommend that you try to move it closer to the floor. That might make it a pain trying to load cds.
You can always go out and get one ( borrowing one would be better ), hook it to your psu and see what it sounds like. I hope this helps.
