McDonalds wi-fi guide, Mac vs PC

I have a MBA 11", The battery lasts ages! It's one of my favourite things about it. I don't have Office so I can't comment on that...

This is the new one (came out last week or two) with the i5, which theoretically should last much longer than the old Core 2 MBA. Maybe some of his settings were borked, that's all I can think of because he doesn't watch HD video, encode, render, anything like that at all, just email/docs/web.

I kind of wish I had that one now... I'll get the next one after I imagine, that being said TBH I don't need the processing power, any processing I do on my Mac Pro.

Yeah I'd have to guess that for things you'd typically be doing on an 11" micro like that, that a C2D is just dandy. I think this guy wanted the new one for the USB3 and Thunderbolt primarily. He has a Dell 27" IPS DisplayPort monitor at his office, so the thunderbolt thing would have been awesome for him in terms of convenience.

Ahh fair enough, it's perfect if you want something ultraportable, to browse the internet etc, I use mine to administer servers mostly and for that it's perfect, anything major I wouldn't go with it though.

Totally misleading, you don't need to do none of that in windows to connect to a wireless network. Wonder which idiot wrote it... did they get it from China?

Fail directions. TBH, I wouldn't want to be responsible for trying to explain how to customize IP configurations for any joe anonymous user, for Mac or for PC. It's equally simple for the 99% of folks who have DHCP defaults for their wireless cards anyway, Mac or PC it's super freaking easy.

The thought of an idiot with a new netbook waddling up to the counter, to ask the 64 year old who just learned how to take a cheeseburger order, for help on how to configure their wireless internet makes me laugh.

Seems that the OP is not being completely honest. The pamphlet says "Need more help setting up...." This is clearly additional steps that one may take to setup Wifi if you had issues, not the simple instructions that most users would read. The Mac direction are simply an after thought on page 3.
