It's trading for $15 right now, with a p/e ratio around 12. Well. It was 12. It's negative once they update it. It is kind of amazing that they actually posted a loss. Especially $340 million in one quarter...

On another note, I'm going to kick this guy's ass:
"Many of their markets have been super-sized for too long," said U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray analyst Allan Hickok. "They're going to skinny them down."
I lost 10 points of IQ reading his "analysis".

there is a mcdonalds on every block in america, they dont' NEED t.v. commercials or stupid radio commercials. they need to spend the money on making their food taste better.

maybe they'll change for the better and look at in n out, wendy's, sonic, or whataburger and find out their food sucks. i mean with their resources, they should be able to kill those places and still make a handsome profit. perhaps their executives haven't eaten in a mcdonalds for a long time and don't know how bad their food is. burger king too

That sums it up.

I got called McDonalds survey people about 6-12 months ago, and they more questions about the effectiveness of their advertising than the quality of their food.

yeah thats what i don't get... all these other places charge the same amount for food and are much better than either the king or mcd's. its not like i never see sonic or whataburger or jack in the box ads either.

of course... mcdonald's corp's profits were always tied to collecting franchise fees... they can't do that when they've saturated the market and theres new competitors coming in.

That's the key reason that they're losing. They've saturated their market. Pissing off the franchisees by putting up a bunch of competing corporate-owned stores within a half a mile isn't helping them either.

they're service sucks balls. I don't even bother going to McD's if I have to eat fast food...the food and service (i.e. getting the order correct, actually being polite to customers) is way better at Wendy's

Mcdonalds lost alot of money and customers recently (Last two quarters) in large part because their newest president who knew nothing about the business he was asked to take over, tried to "revolutionize" the way McDonalds took care of their customers. He single-handedly threw away the old ways of serving the food quickly and keeping low overhead, and switched them to a "have it your way" type of trying to please the customer by custom making each burger. Well once the losses started to get as long as the lines at the restaurants cash registers did...the rest was history...now their scrambling to try and recoop losses that McDonalds hasnt seen in a very long time.
