McCain needs to pull out of PA as well. He needs to keep Colorado, Virginia, Ohio, Florida, and Nevada to win. Obama just need all the Kerry states (which he seems to have secured) + Iowa + New Mexico + any of the states mentioned above to reach 269+ McCain has the uphill battle. Interesting times.

I dunno about PA. I live in South East PA abt 1 hour south of Philadelphia. The area around ranges from rural to suburban and I see a lot more McCain yards signs than Obama.

Not a shock. Outside of Pittsburgh and Philly is widely considered red.

As much as I wanted Huckabee to be the nominee I'm kind of glad he is not and I think he is as well. If his show on fox goes well he'll be able to create himself for the next presidential run in 2012 which I'm looking forward to. This would have been a terrible campaign for any GOP member. He would make a great president for the next four years, unfortunately I have doubts he would have been able to win.

Just saw on the news that Palin wants badly to go to Michigan and try to turn the tide there.
Wonder if John will turn loose the Barracuda?

I was surprised at how much I liked Huckabee as I disagree with 90%+ of his stated policies. But that Fox show-at least the five minutes I endured of it-is horrendously unwatchable. It should be used at Gitmo on the prisoners, they'd be confessing left and right.

Just what we need for the next four years - American Theocracy!

?I have opponents in this race who do not want to change the Constitution. But I believe it?s a lot easier to change the Constitution than it would be to change the word of the living god. And that?s what we need to do ? is to amend the Constitution so it?s in God?s standards rather than try to change God?s standards so it lines up with some contemporary view of how we treat each other and how we treat the family.? Thought this was interesting. Michigan had been seen as a key state for McCain to be able to win, but I guess they're thinking its a lost cause at this point and are moving all the resources out to focus on OH, FL, and WI.

Can't be positive news (assuming these reports are true) for the McCain campaign.

Didn't Michigan vote for the Democratic candidate in the last four elections? (Clinton, Clinton, Gore, Kerry.) If so then I don't understand why the media ever thought Michigan would really be in play after a disastrous Bush Administration.

Actually, Michigan has been in a recession long before the rest of the country went into one. And its all thanks to the democrats that run every aspect of government here.

When the state was failing to balance the budget, what did they decide to do? Start taxing items that were not taxable before, except golf of course (didnt want to feel the pain of higher taxes themselves)

When it was time for Debbie Stabenow to run for re-election, what platform did she run on? No, not how she helped fix issues that actually effect us Michigan residents, but how she stopped Canada from dumping trash in Michigan. Brilliant! Talk about forward thinking!

So compound the fact that Michigan residents are morons for continually voting in democrats who just make the situation worse here, along with the fact that Detroit's almost 100% black population will vote for the black guy, and the fact that Unions run everything around here, yes, Michigan will more than likely go Obama.

I'm a Republican? Wow, that'd come as a huge surprise to a whole lot of people that know me.

But hey, nobody's ever accused you of not making wild insane assumptions in your posts on here to attempt to make a coherent point.

I call it like I see it Slick.

Then both your optometrist and your psychiatrist have failed you, Dave. :(

I'm sorry Dave, but that is sigworthy for a week.
Ne need to apologize.

Yes, and while Rome is burning, Granholm is playing thespian with Biden. I had a friend of mine tell me that Granholm inherited a mess and it's going to take her a while to straighten it out. She can't serve enough terms evidently to do so. Utter and total incompetance.

Oh I see, you're a Republican in Michigan.

Must be feeling pretty lonely these days.

How many jobs did you ax there?

You're an idiot. Michigan is run by democrats and they have thoroughly screwed up the state for a long time to come. Their only solution to the problem is to elect more democrats!

This statement totally marginalizes all of your past and future posts. What a crock of shit you are trying to peddle. Please relocate.

You don't think Engler (former two-term governor before Granholm) might have had anything to do with some of that?

I agree with you that our state government is ineffectual and moronic and that the Democrats deserve much of the blame. I don't think there's any hope for this state.

My proposals:

Turn the state into a nuclear energy powerhouse that can supply the Midwest and perhaps the East Coast with energy. Let's use some of our huge amount of shoreline and cold freshwater to build a bunch of nuclear power plants.

Legalize marijuana 100% and tax it. Who cares if some people sell it to residents of other states; that's their problem and the other states' problem. Of course, residents would still have to risk suffering federal criminal prosecution. (This would probably result in a loss of federal highway funding, though, and who knows what else.)

On the bright side, Koo-wammie finally resigned from being the corrupt Mayor of Detroit and perhaps Princess Beatty will get some jail time. (I laugh when I see the local papers portraying her as a poor, single mom.) Even Matt Millen is gone.

You first. Please, feel free to post something worth debating, rather than telling those you disagree with to move.

Debate? Like anything with you is up for debate. If Engler was still governor we would still be in the same exact mess we are in now not to mention GOP controls the Michigan Senate. The fact that you try and lay the blame the Michigan Democratic Party for screwing Michigan up speaks volumes for you want and desire to debate here. Our problems go a tad deeper than political.

The RNC and outside independent groups will continue to air ads there. I think one group is pouring $250,000 into efforts to attack Obama.
I don't think McCain is fully ceding Michigan.

OUCH!

The MN Star Tribune released their latest state poll. Obama is up 55/37  The two were tied at 45 when they released their last poll.
