Why is it every post of yours involves mocking McCain's service in some way, shape, or form? You know that doing so is a loser for the dems...right?

You damn fool. Why is it that every time you post I feel like puking?

Nobody is knocking his super nice awesome happy time military service, they're knocking people like you who think it's some kind of shoe-in for being president, regardless of his actual performance or capabilities.

I don't see anyone in this thread or on the campaign trail advocating that line of crap.

Capabilities and performance notwithstanding, I also want a President with good character. That's one of the main reasons for my.. dislike of Hillary. ([haughty fake laugh]When I ran from sniper fire...[/haughty fake laugh]) Little backstabbing lying bitch.
Right now, McCain is looking more and more like the more trustworthy candidate IMO. I agree with Obama on a lot of issues, but the ones I strongly disagree with him on are the ones McCain advocates (the most prominent being Iraq and other matters of foreign policy). 😛 I figure we're screwed one way or another, so I'll choose the honest trustworthy experienced guy over the questionable typical politician.

. Good for you, Timmy. You obviously haven't met McCain's first wife, his current wife, or heard about Keating Five.

The Senate Ethics Committee concluded that Glenn and McCain's involvement in the scheme was minimal and dropped the charges against them.

If you want to get partisan, the other 4 (other than McCain) were Democrats 😉

Obama was right on the Iraq war and McCain was not. GWB is a total disaster and McCain backed GWB over 93% of the time.

Need we say any more?

Key word. Pulling out is no longer the answer and IMO will do us more harm then good. I don't care how "open minded" he's suddenly become to the issue, he said what he said earlier in his campaign, and he said it a lot. If he didn't mean it, he shouldn't have said it.

when?

when he said his position on the war wasn't that different from GWB's or when he said he wasn't sure how he would have voted on the authorization of force?

His opinion has not changed, and it was always responsible.

Ugh. That clip had a few shots of Cindy McCain. *shudder*

If she has another face-lift, she'll end up with a freaking beard.

Can't say the same for you, considering you're choosing someone who is willing to continue to bankrupt this country over a false war.

Wow, I got two separate responses.

It was sarcasm, as in to display that I don't hold military service on a pedestal. I'm not knocking that he did it (I don't care one way or another), I'm knocking the pedestal.

I hate this flip flop crap. I would rather have a man in office who can either at admit his position was not right and change it. Or something has changed and it is time to go in a new direction.

If you want a non flip flopper you end up with Bush. A man who is inflexible and never willing to change his stance not matter what.

The cost of gas is skyrocketting I am glad McCain can see the situation has changed so he has changed his position on drilling.

A war that we're involved in nonetheless, and need to finish. Obama's pull out would embolden the terrorists to no end, and ultimately endanger the continental US. We should never have gone into Iraq, but we're there, and to cut and run now will only hurt us.

Pulling out of Iraq would be like running away from a car accident that's your fault. It doesn't solve the problem, and only makes things worse.

Embolden the terrorists? They're already embolden. Victory has already been declared. We won. It's over. There is no point in trying to reverse the inevitable. By that I mean we handed over Iraq to Iran as best we could. There is no denying that. Al Qaeda will always have residual support in the Sunni heartland and Iraq will always be fragmented. The smarted thing to do now would be to get some serious help from Iran and other neighbors in fixing this problem. That does not imply "running away". Bush and McCain want to do it on American terms just like Vietnam, but things don't always end up that way. How much blood and treasure do we have to lose for people like you to realize that you're not going to get what you want? The only thing to finish in Iraq is our departure and we need to do it by thinking of smarter ways to deal with saving face; our energy requirements and energy security.

You know, men that are so sensitive about their perception have already shown all their cards.

McCain can't win without the right hence he's been pondering. He has a true record of bipartisanship and reaching across to the democrats to get things done. The same can't be said about Obama, who is only riding on a wave of anti-republicanism after 8 years of disastrous leadership of Dubya and is probably as far left as a candidate can go.

This is interesting though for people who are either against McCain or trying to look at more (of course if you are for him you will find a way to justify all this away just as Obama supporters would do the same, becuase lets be honest, everyone is always polarized thinking their world view is the correct one).

Anyway that being said, I am shocked at how much McCain has switched positions to tow himself in line with the neo-con GOP agenda. I don't see why he would do that, he is running unopposed in the GOP, he could have gone Neo-Con lite and still won the nomination probably (or split the religous conservative base and lost I guess, so nm).

Well then, can you imagine the nightmare if he was to become President? The Republicans would be hostile to his move back to the center-left while the Democrats would be hostile period.

A man's word may not mean much to you but it does to most Americans.
