Didn't know this is possible. Have any links or forum posts detailing the process, costs, shops, etc? Very close to pulling the trigger on a fusion titanium, but if this is viable, then I'll opt for a Mazda 6 touring

I would avoid after market moon/sun roofs. I know someone who had one and it leaked several times and if you ask people who know cars they will tell you that is normal for aftermarket moon/sun roofs.

Perhaps you can find a place that does it right and has a warranty or at least reviews that prove they will not leak but until that happens i will only get manufacturer moon roofs.

Am I reading this right? The 2.5L doesn't come in manual?? (at least initially)

The 2.5 does come with two potential downsides, however. The first is that it will cost more in a highly price-sensitive segment. Mazda is yet to announce pricing for s trim versions of the car. The second issue is the initial lack of a manual transmission. One will eventually be available for the small percentage of buyers who want to row their own, but not at launch. That said, the six-speed automatic is expertly programmed and offers a sport mode that is predictive, shockingly fast and as capable as any sport mode on the market.

All of the reviews say that the 2.0L is a bit of a slug, so you of course opt for the more powerful 2.5, but then you can't get it in a glorious 6-speed? Given the current prices of the 2013 2.5L, you might as well just buy a BRZ...

Yeah it's all trade-off. I'd rather have the 2.5L myself, I have a funny feeling the 2.0L won't sell all that well considering how small the MPG advantage is in real dollars spent. It's probably there just for the 40 MPG mark, since the 2.5L falls just short.

on the current and previous model the 2.0 non skyactiv was outselling the 2.3/2.5, afaik. don't see why that would change. most people don't care that much.

digging the sedan. hatch is too cute-ute for me. focus still looks better (and on that one the sedan and hatch are both fantastic looking). the visual drop that the mazda6 has in its middle where it looks like it's been bent in half doesn't as apparent on this sedan, though they share styling.

the focus could benefit from the 2.5 engine (or the 1.6 turbo) just like this car does.

Yeah would really like having a 1.6T in the Fiesta ST in the Focus. Sort of a stop gap between the base 2.0 and the firebreathing ST trim.

2014 3's are out in the wild. I've seen two hatches in person. They were lower end trims and they just look...odd. Not having that small spoiler on the top of the hatch really accents how dumpy the rear end of these things are. The profile is just kind of a jelly bean with down syndrome. Interior is also *really* blah.

The 6 sedan in the higher trims looks great. The CX-5 and CX-9 look great. This...not so much.

Do it right = have a body shop replace the roof with a factory sunroof roof at the pillar welds and stop playing games.

I just looked at Montgomery Mazda's inventory online here in Charlotte. They're showing 3 i Touring models in stock.

I don't think the interior looks too bad considering it's a base model. The radio display does look pretty old school though. You'd think they could've put something a little more modern in there. It will be interesting to see real photos of the higher trims as they become available.

Listing for anyone interested

A 2-month review of the new 2014 Mazda 6:
We've had ours for seven months now, and I am still very impressed with it. It's my wife's car, so I'll often go a week or so without being in it, and forget how nice it drives.

2013 model?

I never really considered Mazdas until the RX-8, loved the curves on that, and now the 2014 Mazda3 hatchback. For some reason it caught my eye. Although I also liked sitting up in the Kia Soul, so...fight! :awe:

No, the 2014 Mazda 6 came out in February. My wife originally wanted a 2013, and after we test drove one of those, I made her drive a 2014 and she was hooked!

Btw, my car is an '05 RX-8 black cherry Shinka. :)
