i'm gonna say pacquiao. but only because he's a countryman. otherwise, i'd choose pacquiao. mayweather is running scared. pac-man is the only legitimate threat to his unbeaten streak.

pacman tko or mayweather by decision

I have a feeling mayweather would be extremely careful and just try to win on the scorecards instead of taking ANY chances. Manny would be the opposite. Would be epic if it ever happens. but mayweather is dodging

Do you ever use the search function? Let's beat a dead horse.

At least change the title to Pacman vs Mosley.

I would really want Manny to win, but I think Floyd is just too patient and calculating and would win by decision.

2 Things ( not trolling )

1)Mayweather is scared to fight pac man.

2)Boxing is dead.

  • You have a handful of boxers who have any sort of name recognition. The title fights are kind of a joke.

  • Pac mans last 2 fights : Clottey : What a joke. Really... if you paid for this boxing match, I feel sorry for you. Clottey just covered up the entire fight and earned countless millions of dollars and for what?

  • Then Pac vs Margarito. Why would they even let margarito fight, aside from the fact that apparenty the Texas athletic commission is very lax and/or a joke. I think the fight was declined in Vegas because of Margarito using plaster in his wraps.

  • Why would you give a guy like this millions of dollars to fight? After being caught w\ plaster in his wraps ( which could kill somebody ) he should have been relegated to fighting for a few thousand pesos at cock fights in mexico.

  • Mayweather only wants to box and dance around with guys he knows he can win. They've successfully launched a smear campaign against pacquiao trying to ensue that he's on roids when in fact they regularly drug test.

  • If they do fight, I might watch a few minutes or the highlights. With the internet and HD Net, it's easy to see much more exciting competition in MMA and K1.

  • Boxing to me is just far too boring. The constant 2-3 punch, then clinch, then repeat just seems a little dated to me. You have 3 minute rounds and 1:30 of each round is spent hugging and then having the referee separate the boxers.

  • /boxing is dead rant.

LOl Mayweather's scared? His ego's about 10 times bigger than Kanye West, and regardless of if he could beat Pacman or not. He sure as fuck isn't scared of losing, Mayweather probably believes he could beat Pacman + Mosley as the same time. His ego's the biggest I've ever seen. He absolutely believes in his own mind that he's unbeatable and the greatest boxer to ever live.

He's playiing mind games and hyping shit up so when they do fight it'll result in a shit ton more $$$ for him. Floyd's known for his antics. Even if the fight and Floyd loses, he's still a better fighter with a better record who's faced better competition.

Mayweather's ego is too big, I agree; I don't think he's scared. Maybe he's Bernard Hopkinsy and doesn't think the money is adequate, if anything. I think Mayweather would probably win, but I agree with the poster above: TKO by PacMan or decision by Mayweather.

That's what MMA is except replace "2-3 punch, then clinch" with "circle around and touch hands." Yet MMA is somehow popular.

cuz trying to break someone's arm or choke him the fuck out is legal in MMA but not in boxing. duh?

Boxing Clinch = here, let me rest my head on your chest for a minute
MMA touching hands = how do I break your wrist?

You have it wrong. MMA is 1 punch, clinch, lean on guy against cage, pull him to the ground, lay on him for 4 minutes, then get up and touch hands.

On the plus side, in MMA strikes tend to do more damage, and fights will continue with fairly serious injuries, unlike boxing.

Paging Woosta, animated clips requested.

Re: Boxing

Can ANYONE show me a video/clip of anything good that has ever come out of a boxing clinch besides "break it up?"

Hummm in a few months Pacman's fighting Mosley? Even in his old age I definitely think Shane has the power to put Pacman to sleep.

Hopkins and others are/were quite good at hitting opponents with blows of questionable legality.

Anyway, I'm a fairly big MMA fan, and less of a boxing fan than I used to be, but if you are going to generalize what happens in a clinch for both sports, at least get it right. In MMA the clinch can often lead to something, whereas in boxing it won't really (aside from aforementioned punches of dubious legality)

Mayweather by decision

Pac is a great fighter, but Floyd is a true once in a generation type fighter. He has zero weaknesses. Zero. He has speed, great foot work, a defense that is the best I have seen, and boxing skills that are among the best ever. And he is surrounded by great trainers. He showed he can take a big punch too. In this fight, Pac gives up everything to Floyd, including size and Floyd is not a wimpy fighter. I think the biggest problem for Pac would be Floyds size. Its a shame really. If Floyd was as likeable as Pac or a Mosely, he would be regarded as IMO among the top 3 boxers of all-time. But Floyd is just not a likable person. Nothing redeeming about him as a person and it causes people to short change his true talent in the ring.
