Maybe Malaysia should stop flying planes: 777 crashed in Ukraine

From the news :
Rebel leader Aleksander Borodai has admitted that he has the two missing flight recorders. He says that he has them in his office. He wants to hand them over to international flight authorities (whatever that may mean).

There is a picture of a man holding what seems to be a flight recorder.

I just read this in the news. I was not aware that this had happened but read rumors about it (assuming this news is correct).
The Russian sensation news site LifeNews covered news about the shooting down of a Ukrainian military transport plane. An Antonov-26 was shot down by pro Russian separatists. De separatists announced that they again shot down a Ukrainian military plane above the city Torez in the Donetsk republic. According to the LifeNews newsreader. The news was quickly changed after it became apparent that it was a civilian passenger jet. This happened right after the passenger jet crashed.

Is this true ? It would be indiscriminating proof if there was a youtube video of the newsreader of LifeNews announcing this news. Has anybody seen such a video of the LifeNews news item ?

Amazing, i find a LifeNews video about MH17 from 3 days ago, i sign and there is an internal communications error. And now i cannot get into youtube. What an amazing coincidence again. In the rare occasion that i am looking for something, there is apparently something wrong with youtube.

Uh, no, I have it loaded and working on another tab as I'm typing this..

Weird. It is not working for me, I got an internal communications error after logging in. Even when i google for the site and then click that link, i get the same communications error. Let me try it again, to see if it works now. I will clear my browser cache too.

Kerry now saying there is signal intel detailing russians shipping equipment to the rebels including the rocket battery used in the attack.

Amazing that the youtube comments in another language, have an automatic translation to English feature. I find that very 😎

I find that your acting like there is a conspiracy going on and your paranoid to a point where you actually though someone took down YT LOL. Everyone knows what happened, the Russian-backed rebels thought they were aiming at a military cargo plane which was a 777 and they shot it down. F-ing idiotic assholes, kinda hard to tell what kind of plane it is when it's at 33Kft and if you don't know, don't shoot a missile at it. Malaysia Air should have re-routed any flights over this area since it was known the rebels had this missile system, the US had warned pilots not to overfly this area for that reason, I guess the airline was more concerned about the extra fuel usage to divert around and gambled and lost, big time.

I may give the impression i am paranoid, but i am not. That is why i keep my doubts about what happened until it is confirmed by the news. I am following the news by polling the news sites regularly. What happened just now with youtube is just weird. Never happened to me before. I am not that important, that i would be tracked and observed.

can you shoot down an aircraft?

After the collapse of the Warsaw Pact, the Hungarian amateur surface-to-air missile community—yes, there is a community for this—got access to detailed documentation on how to operate the country’s various, decommissioned Soviet-made SAMs.
...
Put it all together, the result is a free simulator—known as SAM Simulator—that is a close approximation of the real thing. There’s no Buk missile launcher. But the 2K11 Krug is available. Both the Buk and the Krug use semi-active radar homing missiles.

Here's a good discussion of the between Robert Wright and an NGO director in Ukraine. There's a good chance that the SAM battery is Russian in origin. He goes into what a modern "cossack" is. It's more of an ultra nationalist Russian intent on retaking lost Russian imperial possessions.

The Ukrainian Rebels are run by professionals, who are russians and russian trained operatives of nationalities of bordering states.

At least a few Russian tanks have made it across the border, and the BUK system is likely to have come across too. You need at least a 4 man team to fire that system, because it's old and doesn't have modern UI, lol.

The "rebels" have probably been organizing since 2008, so at least one team of cossacks might have organized to bring in the SAM system(s).

This is more likely than some amateur locals took over an army base and it just so happened that they had FOUR(!) ex-soldiers who were trained on that kind of SAM system. Much more likely that Russian cossacks organized before hand.

The problem is that the news isn't always right either so it's hard to tell. As always, the media frantically tries to be the first to release info and often jump to conclusions without actual facts.

Unless I can get a fair story from both sides, I can't help but have a little skepticism. For instance, they basically painted the picture that the rebels were looting, drunk and going through people's items, but then we get reports today they say that this was an isolated incident carried out by locals, which will be prosecuted under law of war.

And we also found out later today that the bodies were moved to the refrigerated cars not to purposely tamper with the scene, but to preserve them somewhat because a lot of the investigative units haven't even arrived yet. If these bodies are rapidly decomposing, wouldn't it make sense to preserve them? It could be just a line of shit, but the bottom line is we don't really know the true intention, and it's hard to take the media's word on it when their only motive is ratings.

There is a lot at stake on all sides in this, so it's possible that some of the "news" isn't being reported back accurately.

So what is the end game here besides international shame and perhaps further sanctions on Russia? Is anything going to happen to those pro-separatists?

Cossacks are a Slavic ethnicity that has a military culture and they have existed for centuries. In fact if I am understanding some of what I recently read to be correct the state of Ukraine was more or less founded by Cossacks.

That's the 19th century definition and before. The late 20th and early 21st century definition is russsion nationalist organizations sponsored by the state (but technically actually ngo), that are used in Russia's recent small wars of separating border regions from Russia's neighbors.

Western Europe is probably going to increase it's sanctions & France will probably not deliver the helicopter carriers it is building for Russia. Germany wasn't really doing anything about Ukraine before this, but that's not really politically feasible, now.

The separatists are russian agents, so the higher ups will go scott free, but the cossacks who fired the missile might get bullets to the back of their heads and quiet funerals. That or nothing.

Except that Europe gets some ridiculous percentage of their natural gas from Putin (from a pipeline that crosses Ukraine if I recall correctly). That's going to make it a little interesting, no?

Other countries are selling weapons or have other business dealings with Russia. Long story short, everyone's in bed with everyone in some way or another, which makes all the posturing so stupid -- it used to be funny, now it's old.
