Ok, I've got all the details, since I don't have an exact number of people who will be showing up, what we'll need to do is line up at the ticket window (small building at the front of the park just short of the main gate) and wait. Everyone who wants to get in at group rate needs to be there by 10am on May 10th. I'll try to make it as obvious as possible which is our group. If I'm not there (I'll be the one with the huge anandtech sign) for some reason, just go ahead and gather near the ticket window off to the southern side. At 10am regardless if I'm there or not (I'm planning to be there by 9:30am baring vehicle or traffic issues) we'll go in and get our tickets. We need to have 15 people to get our discount, which is 20% off, so bring friends if you have to. Hope to see you there!

Again, if I'm not there, just grab your tickets at 10am and I'll find you later. :) Anyone want to decide where we'll be having lunch?

I would love to go but I think I might be going the week of 18-24. During the week in May there are no lines.

They just started testing the new ride and have done limited power tests. They expect to be at full power within the week so it looks like the ride is on time. I can't wait.

Edit: I think the gates open at 9:30 so getting there at ten will but you in the back of the line. You might want to get there by 9 the latest to get tickets or go to a local grocery store and they sell discount tickets.

Someone may want to pick up a 24 pack of pepsi right before you go. The last few years, they've had $10/off with a empty can from a pepsi product (as long as it had the right label). I don't think that stacks with the group rate though.

Still, it's a better discount than the group rate, and you don't need 15 people.

I'd love to go but that's right after finals for me and I'll be occupied moving home.

That is true. I don't drink soda much, but I don't think they will be sold until closer to summer.

Man, I wish I still live in Ohio, so I could go. Cedar Point is the best park, bar none. I just don't understand why it doesn't get more recognition. And that new coaster....oh, my god 420 feet! 0-120 in 4 seconds! Holy Crap! :Q

Don't forget about Millenium Force - that is no slouch.

We were able to get up their last year, unfortunately the line for Millenium Force ebbed and flowed from 2-4 hour wait the whole day, so I wasn't able to get on. Personally, I think many of the Cedar Point rides are great. We even had a fun time taking my four, six and 9 year old on some of the kiddie coasters.

*bump again, since I'm obviously not going to get a sticky with this one. OH well.*

So, while I'm here, anyone going to be bringing a friend along? Also, just so I have a general head count, PM me if you want to go. You don't have to, but it would be cool if you did.

I think I saw someone post that if you want a thread stickied, you should post in Forum Issues.

Count me as a "maybe" for Cedar Point. It's a long haul for me from Chicago. Why did you pick the day before Mother's day?

Well, it just seemed like the best day. :) Nothing else seemed even remotely workable short of August at the earliest. So I took May 10th.

Oh, another plus with it being the day before Mother's Day is the fact that the crowds will be very light. :) It's early season, day before a major holiday, we shouldn't see lines longer than maybe 10 minutes. :)

Hmmmm, May 10th...a Saturday......I might actually be able to swing that. I'll have to let you know once I know what my schedule looks around then....

Great idea tho, I didn't go last year and sorely missed it. :)
