Yeah, I tried that. No go. She said the coupon 'locked' it so she couldn't change the initial price.

On the bright side, I got in on this deal really late, and status now shows mine is 'In the Warehouse'.

Still waiting on mine. When I check the order page (I ordered like Saturday, or maybe Friday) it says that the delivery date is 3/23. However, when it shows the price information it shows $0 as the total. What's up with this? Also, where it says status it says: "Delivery Short Shipped." I have no idea what this means, does anyone else know? I know it was in stock when I ordered it, and it said it was charging my card. Hopefully it'll come today.

got mine today as well. too bad packaging was nothing more than putting the maxtor box in a bigger cardboard box with no padding whatsoever.

Yes, Short Shipped basically does mean the item is out of stock and has been cancelled. What I did is call and have them reorder it for me. This time the drive is $109 - $40 (pro-rated $80 coupon). If you get shot down by a CSR, like an oriental (we all know how they are [ever been behind one in the grocery store check-out line.. they have to pay with _EXACT_ change else they start putting things back!!!]), just call right back and/or insist upon talking to a supervisor. Also, explain that you are NOT looking for a price match, cause all the CSR's have a memo not to honor the additional $40 price drop, inaddition to the original $80 coupon. Yer a fewl if you try the price match. It would be like getting a good deal and then asking for a outragous deal. Btw, the OD store cost (what they buy it for) is $69.97.

No, I will _NOT_ edit it for the sole reason that one of the CSR's that I spoke with was ORIENTAL and -=>EXTREMELY<=- anal --->O about details. She had to do 'this and that' and read all her memos to me. She didn't even offer to put me on hold so I heard all her complaining and !@#$. I was on the phone with her for over THIRTY minutes and ALMOST hung up on her. The other 3 CSR's were QUICK (less than 10 minutes) to understand and do what needed to be done to resolve matters.

EDIT: Also, she insisted that I was trying to pricematch the $149.97 - $80 coupon price to the current $109 price and get the additional $40, according to her memo. She wouldn't even listen to me when I told her that all I wanted was the $109 - $40 (pro-rated $80) coupon, which would be the same price.
