OD is really screwed up... I'm in Canada, tried the Officedepot.ca site... they have the same item but for $224.98 Canadian (we get shafted on our deals up here) but It also takes the coupon code at F**Wal**t as $80 off (Canadian though)... ends up as $166.73 Can, before taxes... blows

I went down to the local B&M with my order ID# after ordering by phone. I even asked the CSR on the phone if I needed anything besides the order ID # and she said NO! I was turned down because I didn't have the actual coupon in my hand. And they were rather rude to me in the process! (and obvious alternate life-stylers too, if ya know what i mean) Westminster CA location

So while driving back I called the 1-800-GODEPOT number and talked to another CSR and told her I was refused at the B&M. She said yes this is the policy and I need to bring in the coupon. So I tried to have it shipped instead. She said that would be fine, but when it's delivered I need to show the friggin coupon to the delvery guy before they release it to me. WTF is their problem.

Once again I tell myself I will NEVER EVEN THINK OF shopping from OD again! What a fvck story, again!

Same story happened to me. Except when I was driving back from the store (totowa, NJ), the guy from the store called me on my cell and told me that there was a misunderstanding on their part and the coupon code was valid. So I went back to the store and got my precious.

Don't get to excited, cause other services cost you more than they do for those of us that do pay tax. So, all-in-all it all evens out.

Got one online. Thanks! $75 with tax delivered and no rebate is a very nice price. I hope that I don't get that "call" now from OD though. We'll see..

heh, no. I was wondering when someone was gonna comment on that. Actually I was really pissed when I wrote that and there was a couple employees that were extremely obvious about their "life choices". One of them was the person who thwarted my attempt to get in on this deal. No offense to you and yours shelby.

Thanks! Just jumped on the deal. Plus I registered today for OD Advantage, and on your first purchase you get double credit, so I"m thinking maybe I"ll get $30 back?

for those of you who have the box in hand, does the drive come with a 3 year or 1 year warranty?

I really can't trust my data to mechanical drives after I've seen them fail so often.

I'm constantly thinking of switching to SCSI but deals like these ruin my plan.

My online status was just updated from waiting to be filled to shipped by third party. Hopefully I'll see it here Monday like the site says.

Do what I do and copy the data to 2 or 3 different drives. If one fails you still have the other 2.

Your local store might NOT honor the deal, as most stores want to see the coupon for instore pick ups.

Ordered this last night and got a confirmation. Thanks for a great deal. Might be able to go cheaper with rebates but you have to put up the big bucks first, then the hassle of a rebate.

It's 1 year warranty. This drive is apparently a little louder than my seagate 40GB. Dont know anout speed, didn't test it.
