Maui Jims >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Oakley
Why?
Branding and marketing. Maui Jims are nice sun glasses and they have positioned themselves as a premium brand. Oakley is also very nice sun glasses but the brand has been diluted.
Never underestimate the fact that a consumer thinks they are getting something better by spending more money on something they can't get everywhere. Oakley makes fabulous sunglasses, but they suffer from saturation and the brand is suffering.
Monster Cables has branding mastered as does Bose.

They're both overpriced garb that will break or get scratched up in a hurry and be a waste of money. Get some crappy $20 polarized sunglasses that fit you well, if they ever break, you can just buy another pair of $20 sunglasses. This is what I have learned after being a sunglasses aficionado for a couple years.
Sunglasses are a pain overall, never have any place to put them when you're inside somewhere else (other than home), like I said they scratch and bend/break easily, and you have to keep taking them off and putting them back on depending on where you go (into a tunnel, for instance). The sun still get through to your eyes anyways and you end up squinting anyhow most of the time.
Butttttt, gotta have a pair- They do definitely protect your eyes. Just wish there were some contact lenses that auto adjusted to the bright lights and went back to norm when you're inside. I guess you're eyeballs would look pretty weird though with dark shaded contact lenses
- Shit I need to get some sleep.

Yet, I've had my Oakley e-wires for about 8 years. How's that million dollar scheme working out?
