I have to vote for Maui Jim because I drive by their corporate HQ every day and like supporting local businesses.

Who would have guessed that they are based out of Peoria, IL?

This is what I have learned after being a sunglasses aficionado for a couple years.

Sunglasses are a pain overall, never have any place to put them when you're inside somewhere else (other than home), like I said they scratch and bend/break easily, and you have to keep taking them off and putting them back on depending on where you go (into a tunnel, for instance). The sun still get through to your eyes anyways and you end up squinting anyhow most of the time.

Butttttt, gotta have a pair :) - They do definitely protect your eyes. Just wish there were some contact lenses that auto adjusted to the bright lights and went back to norm when you're inside. I guess you're eyeballs would look pretty weird though with dark shaded contact lenses :p - Shit I need to get some sleep.

I don't agree with that. My Mauis are still pristine after a year and a half, and there isn't a single scratch on the lens. Whenever they aren't on my head or on my face, they are in the hardcase protective box they came in. I only use the supplied cloth to wipe them, and I only wipe them every so often to avoid grinding any sand/dust into the lens.

At the same time, I can see the trouble if you don't carry a purse like me;). I always have my messenger bag or backpack with me, unless I know that I can leave the box somewhere safe.

They'll last forever*** if you take care of them.

You're doing something wrong. My revos are over 10 years old. No scratches and are a pleasure to wear.

I have both

I prefer the look of Maui Jim and Optics are prolly better the ones I have are flimsy as fvck though but they are super comfortable

Oakley at least the metal ones seem far more durable and I wouldn't be afraid to play sports with them
