Have to wonder if getting married is some way to shelter/protect his assets in the event he is hauled off to jail.

This, and in some states people are entitled under law to refuse to testify against their spouse in a court proceeding without being held in contempt.

Not some. All.

But I don't think this new wife is a witness to anything. At least so far as we know.

The indictment alleges that, between March 16, and April 7, 2021, Alford engaged in a scheme to defraud a victim out of $25 million. As articulated in the indictment, Alford is alleged to have been involved in a scheme to obtain money based upon false promises or guarantees he made to the victim that Alford could deliver a Presidential Pardon for a family member of the victim.

He paid his dues .....

... but will he pay his due?

.
First he has to go to after school detention. He considers this a plus. It's reportedly the best place to meet the girls who put out.

Let me guess. One prosecutor for child trafficking, the other for a big public corruption case.

It had been so long I thought the matter had been quietly dropped, but evidently they are pursuing this.

Article says a former staffer of Gaetz who he "dated" for awhile is testifying before a grand jury about Gaetz. If a GJ is currently hearing testimony, an indictment is likely imminent.

I hope she didn't miss any important high school classes having to go testify. This is a critical time for junior's to be learning and sealing up those grades for those college applications later in the year.
