Wouldn't surprise me that Gaetz got into this via the Republican party and its connections (especially with Turmp). And there's been talk that one of the ways those people get influence is to take incriminating pictures to hold over others and maintain power over them, which could help explain why Gaetz has been such a fervent Turmp slobberer.

I thought I remember there being some connection between Gaetz and Epstein as well (I wanna say his dad had some business relationship or something with Epstein), but I think I got confused. However there were some theories about a connection there, will be curious how that evolves with this story.

Gaetz is now saying he has proof that the DoJ thing is extortion because his daddy was wearing a wire for the FBI to catch mobsters or something?

While Gaetz's defense seems questionable given the outing of this investigation and his argument is stupid, those laws suck and are basically part of the Satanic Panic Part 2 pack of bullshit child sex trafficking garbage that various groups (many of them right wing and religious) are using to force their beliefs onto others (ironically while they've been forcing themselves on women and children). Just watch, its going to become a big issue as that's going to be how they're gonna try to force porn filters and other Moral Majority bullshit just like they tried in the 80s. To be fair, its not just Republicans doing it (there was a bunch of fucked up stuff done under Obama, wherein I think the DoJ put pressure on banks to blacklist sex workers like pornstars from being able to use financial services - its somewhat ironic that Turmp was trying to enshrine and hide his payoff of a pornstar via legal documents), but just like how the Satanic Panic shit wasn't just Republicans, the general religious "think of the children" claims fed by insane lies (that they essentially perpetrated - i.e. religious people spread this hilariously ridiculous cartoonish version of Satan, which fuels normal idiots into craziness, which then goes back up the ladder where the leaders that made up the cartoony shit then claim that as real evidence to support it, and then they leverage their Mass of Morons to try and force whatever other fucked up shit they've been wanting while using those insane claims to say how it proves its needed because people didn't want that shit before) is the source of it.

People need to pay attention as this is how they're splintering voter groups like blacks and latinx. Just look at the Little Nas-X or whatever fervor about Satanism that's cropping up. And then there was the...I forget what it was even called that Netflix movie where right wingers claimed it was child porn. There were a lot of black people joining that and much of it was because the pull of religion is stronger than that of normal politics. And right wingers have known that for some time (they knew that back then which is why they worked to pivot from the blatant racist policies to made up crazy shit to sell to religious people).

Because people don't know who politicians actually are (outside of a select few). But one person doing it wrong and then linking to others would likely lead to them following and not manually inputting a name.

He accused decorated senior DOJ investigator David McGee of blackmailing him for $25 million. He then went on Carlson’s show and tried to rope fucker into it, saying “Remember when you and I went to dinner with the 17 year old woman I was seeing and nothing happened?” Lol .. wtf! .. What a shitshow!

Fox News has no idea how to spin this story yet. So they are avoiding it completely on their website.
 
Now rumors surface that he is seriously considering leaving Congress to take a media job at Newsmax. Great opportunity for him to do what’s best for his constituents and the American people as a whole — quit Congress!

Obviously there's not enough national exposure for this grifter as a dipshit congressperson.

The actual plan is:

1.Get his name and punchable face in front of DumpsterFire’s supporters via uncritical bullshit cable channel.
2. Run for President.
3. Profit - winning is not a requirement - just fleecing the flock.

The whole ‘quitting Congress to become a Media Star!!! thing only adds to the likelihood that Gaetz knows something about his personal life — something other than ‘I can’t leave the ladies alone!
