Lance is actually pretty tall (about 5'11" IIRC) so Damon should look fine as long as they starve him. The real laugh will be watching him ride a bike. Someone who really doesn't spend much time in the saddle looks really awkward compared to a pro who basically lives there.

Of course, on the roadie dorks such as myself will notice this. :p

Regardless, I don't see a compelling reason to make this film, other than to cash in. I'd rather just see a documentary.
My sentiments exactly.

Honestly, I think Damon is a committed enough actor that while you might see the difference, he'd be able to get the part pretty well. I'm sure that with enough training and constant supervision, he'd be putting in enough hours riding (with constant supervision from pro riders, of course) before the filming begins that you wouldn't notice much. IMHO, of course.

I'm sure they'll manage to not really have Damon on the bike all that much.

I agree with that. I suspect that he would train for the role pretty heavily and to all but the more hardcore fans of the sport would look believable on the bike.

So who would be a better fit for the role? Brad Pitt? LOL.

Come on guys.

Instead of criticizing EVERYTHING, why don't you throw in something constructive as armchair casting agents

My vote goes to Gwyneth Paltrow in butch..........

Lance the movie

According to a Sky News report, actor Matt Damon could be picked to play Lance Armstrong in an upcoming movie, scheduled for release in 2006. Damon is in negotiations with producer Frank Marshall for the project.

I'm a fan and all, but my Spidey-sense tells me this is going to suck.

I'm sorry this is going to drag him away from whatever-gay-serial-killers-who-ride-horses-and-like-to-play-golf-touchy-feely-picture
he's supposed to be doing this week. :p

Jeez, give the guy a break! He IS Jason Bourne you know. :)

But but but.. his real name is Dave Webb.
