Matrix... so not plausible at all

Ok, watching Matrix: Reloaded as I type and I'm sorry, but what is so amazing about this movie? The whole story is clearly written by someone who is completely illiterate when it comes to computers. And the kung fu is BORING. And now it's like some stupid haunted house type thing going on. The people here are supposed to be computer people so how can you think a movie where programs have a choice in whether or not they are deleted is worth watching? I mean come on, why don't the machines just type in the console command to delete the oracle, etc.?

Gotta love how shooting some 9mm bullets into a window and door panel can make a car flip 10' into the air.

the worst part of the movie was the "Dance" The rest of it I thought was pretty decent. :)

I just wanted to see if their was anyone else here who dosn't see the fascination with this movie.

The whole plot is just absolutely ridiculous and has more holes than swiss cheese.

1) First of all, why would you delete the Oracle?
2) Second of all, can you delete any advanced virus by typing "delete <virus>" from the commandline?
3) Third of all, the programs have a choice because they are completely autonomous. Some of them had the power to alter the Matrix to prevent the architect from deleting them.
4) Find me a western movie with better fight scenes than the Matrix 1 and 2.

Were you even watching the same Matrix that the rest of us were? Flamebait.

Welcome to AT.

4 things:

1. You must be a hardcore closed minded liberal or you will get flamed
2. You must be arrogant and think that your oppinion is the only one that counts and anyone that disagrees is stupid
3. You must be anti-religion or you will get flamed
4. You must love the matrix, or you will get flamed

follow these rules and you will fit right in.

So you had to start a new thread despite the fact that there about about 50 other threads b1tching about TMR? Plus your argument is ridiculous. "It's not plausible!" Who the fvck cares? It's a gdamn movie. I'm sure we're going to have cyborgs warping here from the future, thinking machines that nuke Russia who nukes us, I'm sure Fight Clubs are going to be setup all across America, I'm sure we're all really batteries

there are just too many flaws/holes in the matrix story. if i can just ignore thinking too much about the plot, it could likely be a really cool movie. the action is good and everything, and the story is intruiging. i just cant help to think of all the BS it implied.

it's a frigging movie. you gotta go along with its premises

and who is to say that computers will always be like the ones we use today? not saying that a matrix-like situation is plausible, just saying this statement: "whole story is clearly written by someone who is completely illiterate when it comes to computers" is an unfair judgement.

personally i'm not a matrix fan but i think it is pretty enjoyable as a sci-fi/action movie.

1. She is supposed to be the equivalent of god, right? Why would the machines want a program like that in their "matrix"?

2. No, but you can format and reinstall if you can't get rid of it.

3. Why would the machines simply not uninstall them? Look through the file directory and delete each file they are associated with?

4. Any movie based around kung fu fighting is boring...

Why don't the machines, which have control of earth now, switch to fossil fuel power for back-up, reformat the HD the matrix is on, and start over again?

Name one movie that you think is better... we'll rip more holes in it than Bonnie and Clyde's car.

Because it's more efficient to feed humans and steal their energy, because as we all know, human beings are the most efficient means of converting chemical energy to electrical

maybe there is no fossil fuel? humans used it all up in a drive to buildup the machines and instructure before the war?...there's a sh|tload of possiblities.

machines did reformat part of the matrix...didn't you listen to the Architect, matrix is in the fifth iteration.
