Why don't the machines, which have control of earth now, switch to fossil fuel power for back-up, reformat the HD the matrix is on, and start over again?

maybe fossil fuel has run out?!?

format hd?! wtf? this is not a pc we are talking about here.

just stop posting. it's fairly obvious that you are trolling and doing a very badjob at it.

Because it's more efficient to feed humans and steal their energy, because as we all know, human beings are the most efficient means of converting chemical energy to electrical

.

i never said that was more efficient. i was merely answering his questions, saying nothing more. i already stated that i am not a matrix fan and i don't believe it's plausible. i just think the original poster is flame baiting by trying to pick apart a movie using bad arguments.

Another thing here is that the machines do have AI, and thus can think for themselves. The Orcale has probably made it impossible for her to be deleted, as have other programs (ie the french guy, or the guy who programmed the matrix). We are dealing with a concept that none of us has any experience in. I can tell you that for a fact because well, AI to that extent DOES NOT EXIST!

obviously not a sci-fi fan. well guess what sci-fi's are about technologies and science/technology related events that may happen but isn't already happening.

And the kung fu is BORING. And now it's like some stupid haunted house type thing going on. The people here are supposed to be computer people so how can you think a movie where programs have a choice in whether or not they are deleted is worth watching? I mean come on, why don't the machines just type in the console command to delete the oracle, etc.?

Gotta love how shooting some 9mm bullets into a window and door panel can make a car flip 10' into the air.

For one thing, it is only a movie which is intended to entertain. And for another thing it is only a movie on which I would not spend too much time trying to rationalize it. And I liked the Dance segment.

Oh yeah, did I say it is only a movie?

I thought Matrix sequel was awesome, not in storytelling wise like to first one, but visual effects and more explaination of things, I suppose.

Two thumbs up.

It was supposed to be a movie about a realistic family. Last time I checked, my father isnt black mailing the company and buying drugs from my neighbor. On top of this the drug dealers father believes he is GAY and then shoots my father because he thinks he was messing around with his son. I have heard of this happening to tons of families.

Wow, very true.

I think the fight scenes in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon are better than those in The Matrix: Reloaded. Also, I went to see Reloaded for guns, I'm tired of martial arts, all it shows is the admiration of asians and their fighting.

I'm not a liberal nor am I arrogant. Furthermore, I'm not anti-religion, I'm pro-science. Pro-science != anti-religion. Where do I fit into the grand scheme of things here?

So you just watched the first 5 minutes of a bootleg copy and decide the movie sucked... and then have the balls to post on ATOT
rolleye.gif

BTW, go to the theater and watch it till the end, only till the end (meeting with the architech) in which much of the story gets told.

Actually, I'm Agent Smith, but close enough. These days, we're more similar than you could imagine....mwuahahahaha.

No, but seriously. XZero, you really need to shut your trap before you go around making broad strokes of idiocy like the one above. Just because you've gotten your ass handed to you in numerous arguments doesn't give you the right to be a prick. Being a prick is a right earned only after putting in your time. ;-)

Exactly. The whole point of the extra bit of code that was "within" Neo was that it had to make it's way back to the beginning and make a choice to start the whole thing over again. The original Matrix was perfect and that was it's flaw - the architect got bored or something. Heh... a bored program. Anyway, the new matrix was built to fail. In order for the nearly-perfect matrix that decays into a pile of crap to be rebuilt, the extra bit of code (or original code?) had to get back to the architect so that he could rebuild it. The architect let the oracle (the second highest "authoritied" program) stay because he knew she would direct Neo back to the architect and it would start all over again.

It's kinda like installing Windows95. After a short while with all the abuse that it goes through, it becomes all f'd up and you need to format and reinstall.
