the Animatrix, if you haven't seen that then you're missing 40% of the equation.

The name symbolisms alone in this movie could consume hours of debate (MorphHeUs, Neo, Trinity). The most important stuff is in the animatrix, the machines wanted their own nation, we put that nation to war (not a good idea), and they enslaved us. All primitive societies have practiced slavery at one time or another, what this movie is posing, is a supreme irony.

Creatures evolving to the point of enslaving their creators.

Neo was a programmer, the main enemies in the trilogy were programs. It is indirectly illustrating the war of the working man with his work. It also addresses and encompasses several religious philosophic social and cultural associations. Its hybrid entertainment, just expect more of it. I like it because i'm mult-talented and I see how massive the efforts of collaborating so many artists can be and how well it can all work out.

Not everyone likes hybrid entertainment, they like their kung-fu movies with pan flutes not techno. They prefer their religion at church and their philosophy at school and their government downtown. This movie and the genre that it represents are going to try to bring these all together into 2 hours and make it entertaining. I think we can all agree our own efforts would meet with much less success.

Good post. I agree with most of it... I was a big fan of the, let's say, philosophical aspects of the movie. Anything that can inspire good debate between people is a plus in my book. But next time they try and make a hybrid movie, maybe they can get some good actors :p Laurence Fishburn and Hugo Weaving were good, but every time Keanu Reeves or Carrie-Anne Moss (the two characters with the most screen time) opened their mouth, I had to supress the laughter.

Matrix Revolutions was a fine continuation of the series. If you watch all three movies back to back, you may like it better.

Or it could just be that the grand concepts laid out in Revolutions are too much for you to grasp.

stfu, M2 and M3 both sucked no matter how DEEP you know it go or think how deep you know them.
And I'm a Matrix fan!
you're not a matrix fan if you though 2 and 3 sucked. you are a trendy sob that thought the first one was "cool" just like everyone else that saw it.

Where most people get it wrong is in thinking that it was a trilogy.

The proper viewing order (IMO - I could be wrong)

The Matrix

The AniMatrix
(Paying particular attention to The Second Renaissance 1&2, Kid's Story,
and Final flight of the Osiris - as they relate directly to the story in Reloaded)
The other shorts help to add more background to the world of the matrix.

Enter the Matrix (the game)
(can be played before, or after Reloaded - or during if you are that 3l33t)
(and extra hour of movie footage and explanations that set the stage for Reloaded and Revolutions)

Matrix Reloaded

Matrix Revolutions
