ok so this is the problem.... When i worked it out I got 3(x+3)(x+0) is this correct?
Thanks, and if you anyone excels in math and wouldn't mind helping me out with some other question it would greatly appreciated.

 
Assuming that the above problem is actually ((x-3) / (3x)) * ((x^2) / (x^2-9)) then nope, the correct answer is not 3x(x+3).
 
I'm not sure I can read your expression since it's poorly formatted, however if it is what I think it is, the answer you get is: x/(3*(x+3))

The point of getting help on your homework isn't to be supplied with the anwer, but to learn how to do it on your own. Please show us what you did to get your previous answer and we'll offer you advice on what you did wrong and how to go about solving it correctly.

i cant read it either....the answer i got is
((x^2)-3x)/((3x^2)-27)

But jeffeh...this is insanely easy math. How can you have this much trouble?

Everyone has to start somewhere. That's the point of learning. I remember struggling with math that I can do in my sleep now. There's no reason to put him down over it.

so true. I remember when I didn't know what a derivative is.
 
(x^2-9) on the bottom right factors by the difference of squares: (x-3)*(x+3)

Then the (x-3) cancels from the top left, leaving 1 up there and just the (x+3) on the bottom right.

x^2 and 3x cancel, leaving x on the top right and 3 on the bottom left
