what? you mean the achievement for the romance sub plot? As far as I know that is only done with Liara, not Ashley.

No. From what I've read, if you woo both the women (or Kaiden and Liara if you're a female character), in a specific way or order..or something, then they'll confront you before Virmire where you have to pick who your interest is.

Two's company, Three's a crowd - After successfully completing the second primary mission on a critical path world and returning safely aboard the Normandy, if the player has been wooing more than one of the above crewmember(s), the player will be suddenly confronted by both of them after the crew briefing. Choose one over the other to continue the romantic sub-plot.

here

But it never happened for me. I think the *right* options for Ashley are much more subtle than for Liara. If you woo one "more" than the other, that character is automatically picked. But it's too easy with Liara since she's drops hints like a bull in a China shop. Next time I'm going to pick all middle options talking to her, and all paragon choices with Ashley. I just hope that doesn't skip the confrontation.

Well I didn't talk to ashley or liara at ALL on one of my playthroughs and still "did it" with ashley at Illos.

I romanced both liara and ashley and both were very satisfying. :)

I can confirm that it works for Liara, Ashley, and Kaiden (don't ask).

:Q

Heh, actually, I've been meaning to post about this: Has anyone else noticed how even when you're a male Shepard, you still do the slow walk up to Kaiden and make (what I perceive to be) awkward eye-contact before the conversation starts? That kind of approach only happens with the three possible objects of affection, but it always got an immature laugh out of me that they kept the male-on-male "approach" in the game.

I was always annoyed that it took so long to initiate a conversation with Kaiden because I'd have to wait for Shepard to freaking walk up to him, then watch Kaiden slowly turn to face him. Get on with it already!

Lol....it's like the routine form Eddie Izzard: Dress to Kill.

"Oh....I...." "Yes?" "Oh..." "Oh?" "Ummmm...I..."

Yeah, that gets old pretty fast. I did not talk to Kaiden when I played my male Shepard, just too annoying for me.

On my second playthough, I went in to get the two alliance party member achievements, luckily I got them before Virmere because as we all know, you've got to make a choice at the end of that mission. I'll probably save Kaiden, so my female Shepard needs to choose between boning him, or Liara. I also killed Wrex in this playthough, and it was more brutal than I expected (not on screen, just *daaayum*). Shotgun melee to the face, at least 4 shotgun blasts while he was lying on the ground, and some gurgling sound effects.

I just played through most of Virmire last night (next I am heading to the nuke to rescue Ash--this will be twice that I left Kaidan to die :)) but I couldn't bring myself to kill Wrex because I somehow still don't have the damn ally achievement for him :|.

I have a save at the Wrex confrontation, though, so I'll go back and check it out later.

You know what really grinds my gears? When you play a game for 20 hours, completing it, and dont get an achievement you thought you'd get because you were on the wrong difficulty setting. I thought the whole time I was playing on Hardcore (because there were only three difficulty options, and the highest one was locked, I picked the second to highest that I could pick for the second time around)... in fact, I was on Veteran. That grinds my gears.

Oh man, that sucks!

I just finished my second playthrough as well, but I remembered to change it to Hardcore :) In true Renegade fashion I took out the Council and gave Udina the power. Man that guy is crazy. I love the red background at the end.

I wonder if Bringing Down the Sky introduced any new items, because I found some armor during the DLC that I ended up wearing for the rest of the game (Virmire, Ilos, Citadel). I think it's Colosus VII, and nothing came close to touching it--not even the IX armors I had available.

I'm looking forward to a third playthrough using a female character this time. I wonder if Insansity will be challenging, especially with a new character. I rolled through the end on Hardcore. My allies and I were doing some serious damage.

I didn't think insanity was all that hard, it just takes longer to kill the enemies. The krogans are badass, though. they are the only enemies to kill me when i played through on insanity. It's fun as hell to use lift on them though and watch them sail away.

Yeah the krogans definitely take the longest to kill. I love using lift on them or the mech-like geth whenever they charge at you.

Well, I didn't even have the OPTION to pick Hardcore, because it was locked. I just assumed that it was Insane that was locked, but I guess you had to play through first on Vet, to get Hardcore. I dont know if I'll be jumping back into ME for now... I've put over 40 real hours into that game in a single month. :Q

Oh, I see. That sucks even more! It should just unlock once you complete your first playthrough. I figured out last night that I've put about 75 hours into this game, and I'm not done yet. :Q

Gotta get all those achievements! ;)

Sorry, I don't quite understand why Hardcore didn't unlock. Did you play on Casual the first time?

EDIT: And also, not that this will help you, but I've learned that as long as you change the difficulty setting before you finish Eden Prime that you'll get credit for the setting chosen. It's odd that they don't ask you before the first mission starts, but that's how it works.

Wait, it should give you Hardcore after beating it once. Did you forget to beat it the first time?:p

The first time through, I played on whatever the default difficulty was because I hadn't played an RPG in a while. I finished the game completely. You'll see that I got the achievement for it quite a while ago if you check out my tag's page on xbox.com

I know, I was teasing. From what I could find (GameFAQs and BioWare forum) it is supposed to unlock after the first playthrough, so maybe you found a bug?
