I doubt it. I assume the only thing related will be the mid-credits clip or end-credits teaser.
Though I imagine you might see some Scarlet Witch or even Hawkeye or something? I have no idea, really.
From what I've heard, the movie has some weak tying into the MCU, but that's probably not surprising since Edgar Wright, the original director, didn't plan on this movie necessarily meshing in.
Agreed, for the most part. They are even managing to make Thanos somewhat weak, and certainly not all that compelling right now. Which sucks, because I have such fond memories of his badassery.
I don't think it's an issue with power though. Plenty of villains have a lot of strength, but they feel more like a plot device than a character. Most people's favorite villain (as of late) is probably The Joker from The Dark Knight, and I was sitting here trying to think about why. I know it was a good performance and such, but there's more to it than that. I think it has to do a bit with the way the story was written. Throughout The Dark Knight, Batman is arguably playing a game of cat and mouse with The Joker, but Joker is arguably a few steps ahead of Bruce almost the entire time. In other words, the main character isn't in control.
Some of the Marvel movies do that too (Thor 1 with Thor on Earth, Iron Man 3 with the broken-down suit, etc.), but the difference is... these events just further the
main character and
not the villain.
The new Magneto is awesome--and I like McKellen, but I never liked his Magneto.
I don't know... I just can't really get into the newer X-Men movies. Don't get me wrong as I think Fassbender is good.
I think one of their villains that has maybe been overlooked for a while now is DeFoe's Goblin in the first Spiderman. He was freaking awesome. Granted, these aren't part of Marvel's official work, but the IP does have very good villains, if properly utilized. ...
if properly utilized. Look what the shit happened to Doom.
I think my only complaint about DaFoe's Green Goblin was that it felt a little
too cheesy. I'd really prefer if a lot of the humor in a Spider-Man movie came from Peter, but having the villains provide a bit of their own when need be would be great too. Spider-Man 2 worked well with Doc Ock. My only complaint would be that they did a good job setting him up, but they really got lazy near the middle. Although, they kind of redeemed it a bit near the end with him sacrificing himself.
EDIT:
Picard's Xavier was/is as truly powerful as Xavier is supposed to be. Hell: he came back from a death that vaporized all of his physical molecules.
To be fair, Charles didn't pull a Dr. Manhattan and reassemble himself.

He transferred his consciousness to his comatose brother, which has been retconned by the latest movie anyway!
