Here is a paper published by Keene College back in early 2000s so before Trump came on the political scene. Out of the 16 characteristics we meet 15 of them and Trump is attempting #15

Now tell me again how we are NOT on the edge of Fascism?

We aren’t on the edge, we are already there. Election integrity and interference has already happened. The republicans in multiple states have subverted the will of the people multiple times and Trump himself has tried it in various ways.

I get it, no one wants to admit that we’ve already crossed the line for various reasons including self preservation but the fact remains, we’ve already crossed the line.

Yet another step. Now NG can carry guns with live ammo. Just a matter of time until protestor is shot, major unrest ensues and Martial Law is declared which was the plan from the start.

Surprised not already mentioned here - Trump sets the FBI on John Bolton (how long before he has them raid Obama's place?)

[Edit] I thought I was posting that in the 'results' thread. Don't know how it ended in in this one - I guess I get confused about 'tabs', I'm getting as bad as Trump/Biden.

On the topic of the thread, he still seems to be inching his way towards it. Troops to be deployed in Chicago and NYC next?

It's as if he's asymptotically approaching martial law, rather than jumping right to it.

I suppose nothing will be clear till the mid-terms, but can't help but wonder if this militarisation of policing in all the Democrat-controlled cities is a prelude to doing 'something' during the elections.

Together with the campaign of ruthless gerrymandering, it seems like the 'boiling a frog' trope applies.

Trump has been boiling the frog since he came down the escalator and said most immigrants from Mexico are rapists and murderers.

States need to get more Proactive. Trolling the Public to get a cause to declare ML is clearly Un-Constitutional.

It's not even that subtle. Lots of Red State NG units being called up to occupy blue cities. DC is different because there is no one local that can really do anything about it. It's gonna take a blue state Governor (Pritzker/Hochul/Gavin) to do something extraordinary to stand up to them. Like, maybe call up their own NG units in much greater #s ...

I had the impression that Trump had invoked a dubious alleged Presidential power to take control of the California National Guard?

[Edit] yeah, and rubber-stamped by his pet Supreme Court

Really, really curious to see if these moves are a prelude to something planned for the mid-terms. Will he declare the units need to be deployed to polling-stations, to deter a "repeat" of "Biden's electoral fraud"?
Maybe I'm being over-excitable in considering that, it's very hard to tell, to tread the line between over-dramatising and complacency.

I mean, if there's not such a plan here, what actually is the point of these moves? Just to impress his rural base that he's punishing those pesky liberal cities?

To normalize the idea, with a side of hoping someone excitable takes a shot so they can use that as further justification?

Why tho?

With how unpopular Dems are, GOP probably has an outright pretty decent shot at maintaining their majority in the midterms, regardless of whatever these moves are suggestive of.
Gee, who would have guessed this was your prediction. Petey is at it again!

While polls this far out don’t mean much as they stand the Democrats are favored to have a majority.

This is the same MO for which he was impeached. Tried to get Zelensky to say Biden is being investigated. Trump told him I just need the announcement and we'll take it from there.

Same plan he has been running since. Idiots and the media continue to continue to fall for it.

I don’t think the media fell for it. I think they are in on it with some little watched or listened to exceptions. The media is owned mostly by billionaires.

Oooh! Expect a scathing letter of dissent from KJB!

Most illegitimate court in the history of the United States!
