There was lots of bitching moaning and complaining on our neighborhood and Island forums from the Republicans before Trump launched his attack on the blue states, before he and Vance bushwhacked Zelenskyy and sided with Putin on his invasion of Ukraine, before he implemented his tariff war on the world, before he started strongarming our universities and law firms into compliance with his racist agenda and before he let loose his attack dog Elon on the govt's workforce and their families.

And now, all is silent on the Republican's War on Democracy from the righties on those forums. I can't decide if they're so ashamed at what they've done to America through their support of Trump or they're so so happy and content that their wish to turn our democracy into a fascist dictatorship led by a racist misogynist crackpot has finally come to pass.

Anyone out there with legal experience? Even if Trump did file an emergency appeal why couldn't the court just say...

"All the lawyers are present and they have their arguments. Get your asses in here Friday and we will have the hearing"

Instead the courts are waiting until Tuesday knowing we have a festering powder keg with all the protest scheduled this weekend.

Not a lawyer, but as I understand it, the issue is the stays are being done in ways that perpetuate the most harm instead of the general standard of trying to minimize the overall harm.

And then there is a lot of slow walking "emergency" things, or SCOTUS shadow docket stuff that lets Trump keep doing illegal things while cases are still ongoing.

Well there's absolutely no doubt that Trump has encouraged, enabled and exacerbated the worst of what his supporters are capable of in order to seize and hold on to his reign of terror over the nation. It seems the people who voted for him have been cornered into accepting and publicly endorsing Trump's push for giving himself the absolute power he needs to rule as the nation's emperor. I'm left wondering how many of them have such a bad case of buyer's remorse that they'll either stay home or vote against his party's domesticated legislators come the mid-terms.
