Now the troglodytes who pick and choose the opinion of a few scientists with special interests over mounds of scientific evidence and observable processes will grasp on to this Russian scientist's theory based on three years observing a planet that man has never visited except for a couple landers and a radio controlled car that goes 1cm an hour and gets stuck on pebbles.

saying that global warming is caused by natural forces is like putting a bucket out in a drizzle, cranking up the hose and putting that in the bucket, and blaming the full bucket on the precipitation.

in three years we will find a way to defeat the pebbles or maybe even "go over them[sic]? "
when it get's there in 15yrs the pebbles will be shaking in their little pebble socks:evil:
That, and the planet has had millions of years to acclimate itself to those natural releases, and reach equillibrium. Now we're digging up carbon that nature sealed up, deep underground millions of years ago, what are now hydrocarbons. We are burning them, releasing loads of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere that isn't supposed to be there.Originally posted by: BrownTown

Well no, thats not really true, the amount of greenhouse gases released naturally FAR exceeds the amount produced by humans. The argument is more on the order of human releases being sort of the straw the break the camels back, not that they are the onyl contribution.
Having said that, I am obviously very dubious of this new study given the amount of data considered. However, also it is just as true that global warming supporters pick and choose only the things which support their idea too, so its goes both ways.

He claims that carbon dioxide has only a small influence on Earth's climate and virtually no influence on Mars.
But "without the greenhouse effect there would be very little, if any, life on Earth, since our planet would pretty much be a big ball of ice," said Evan, of the University of Wisconsin.

The Mars rovers were designed to last 90 days. They have now lasted over three years on a planet averaging 48 million miles away and have provided volumes of data. The only failure so far has been a wheel on Spirit but they have since programmed it to run on five wheels. The rovers are an amazing engineering achievement and don't desire to be belittled.

Well, it's kind of hard to ignore ice caps melting and glaciers that have been around for hundreds of thousands of years now almost completely vanished in a matter of decades.
