Mariucci fired by the Niners! Poll: Good or bad?

Haven't they been in the playoffs the last four years without almost any rebuilding? I think I remember reading that in the paper here a few days ago. Why would you fire a coach that can do that??

I wish! Ford already said M&M get another year...at least.

The Team Owner, Dr. York, sucks hard. Jim Mora Jr as the next head coach? I hope not. The Niner Defense is what sucked for the Niners and he was the Defensive Cordinater.

he was good, but with a history as rich as the 49ers good just doesnt cut it, imo...i don't see anyone who can fill his shoes, but the team itself should be good next year. go niners!

for a team that was in cap trouble when he took over, and had to build a team from basically nothing (Owens was about it) he did a pretty damn good job.

I'm disappointed in the 9ers for letting him go. He will find great success elsewhere.

I think that was more the work of Walsh than Mooch.

I thought Morningweg and Millen were staying another year?

This is the best news I have heard all day! Now with Mariucci in the picture for the Jacksonville job, the Panthers may not lose Jack Del Rio this year. I think John Fox is doing a great job for the Panthers, but Del Rio is the man. Taking the 31st ranked defense up to 2nd ranked in one year. Del Rio will be a head coach, I just hope it takes longer than I expect.

Edit: As far as the poll goes, I voted Bad Move for Niners.

damn that sucks!!!!

he is a great coach!!!!

John York is a DUMBA$$
at least he could have tried to get some draft picks out of him!!!!

damn im pissed!!!!

we better get a good coach
maybe someone like Dennis Green
or Pete Carrol

while i am willing to agree that Walsh certainly helped, I don't think he did more than Steve.

Stupid move by the 9ers. Not that I care since I'm a Raiders fan....still it's a stupid move. He stayed with that team and helped rebuild them when they were way over the cap, developed young players, and was a good coach. I think it comes down to Bill Walsh having a case of the big head and thinking Mooch was getting in the way of the ego stroking Walsh feels he deserves.

Wouldn't be surpirsed to see Dennis Green up up in SF. I just have a feeling his old buddy Bill called him up and told him to withdraw from the Jax coach search so that he would be available for the 9ers.
