Just an observation, but I've noticed that mainly the people who have negative things to say about a game are always the ones to post outside of the big, attention-grabbing **OFFICIAL** game posts like "**OFFICIAL** Super Mario Galaxy Thread". Wonder why?

Sorry im just wondering if anyone wasn't too impressed by it...obviously everyone in that thread likes it.

Just an observation, but I've noticed that people who are younger than me tend to throw the word "of" into sentences before the word "which" when it doesn't belong, and people who are younger than me also tend to not like games because they're too "kiddish." Coincidence?

I'm just being a smart-@ss... I haven't even played it, yet. Hey, I have to save something for Christmas.

I was only pointing out that I think you're going to get the attention you seek with that thread title.

I probably wouldnt like it, but thats because im sick of mario. I only played second player and all i did was shoot some stars and screw up my friend by making him jump. It does look like the best Mario yet and definitely the best wii game so far.

I have a feeling that Galaxy is a type of game where if you don't like it, you just don't WANT to like it. Like I've told people before, I regretted buying my Wii before I played Galaxy. Zelda and Metroid were good, but there was something that just didn't fit... Galaxy feels like it should, plays like it should, and I don't miss a normal controller when I'm playing it.

The problem with the controller scheme in many of the ported games (COD3 bleh) was they add Wii specific garbage motion stuff just cause they could. Didn't necessarily add to the game and could get annoying.

I played galaxy for about 90 minutes tonight after the football game with the wife just watching. Games interesting/unique enough for someone to just watch and the controls are quite smooth in execution.

Agreed. It's really ironic that kids are usually the ones that dislike games for their "kiddish" qualities.

Kids are the ones buying "Bloodfest X" on the PS3 and bragging about billions of pixels of blood and titties on the screen every second. Mature gamers like myself have fun with Mario Galaxy.

Okay, but im not a kid. I agree that SMG is probably the best looking Wii game and the controls are good but im just not a fan of the game. I love how people stay on topic :)

I bought my Wii about 9 months ago. I bought an XBox 360 about 6 weeks ago. I've been waiting for SMG for a while now, but was disappointed when I first started playing it, because I've been spoiled by the nice high definition graphics of the 360 (COD4). Lots of jaggys in SMG. However, that is my only complaint! I love everything else about the game. The controls are smooth as silk, the music is very fitting, each of the levels are designed well and there seems to be a nice, smooth transition from SM64 through SMSunshine, if you count that one, to SMG.

One other though; anyone think the level naming convention is a little off? At the Observatory there is a map of the universe. In this universe there are groups of galaxies, then each galaxy has 4-6 other galaxies in it. WTF? What happened to solar systems and planets? A little odd. Is this why the Japanese have never landed men on the moon? :)

I was skeptical before I received the game from gamefly. I thought there was no way it'd live up to the hype. It really is the 2nd best game I've ever played (OOT is still #1 because it was revolutionary at the time).

If you didn't like Mario 64, I could see why you would not like Galaxy. However, kiddishness (lol) is a poor reason to list for disliking a game.

oh one thing that i find completely unacceptable is the lack of voice acting. i mean is the wii just incapable? do they not have enough space on the disk? i can't stand it and its a total deal killer for me.

I think that's just a traditional Mario game component. I think voice acting would totally change what Nintendo has going on with those characters. I like them the way they are with their minimal vocalizations to punctuate dramatic, exciting or humorous moments. I can't understand why you would think it's completely unacceptable.

That's what I was just thinking. Its more or less saying it "plays like what is widely considered to be one of the best games ever made" while trying to trash it.

Zelda and Metroid didn't fit?!?! Ok, I'll give you Zelda, even though I thoroughly enjoyed the added control motion. But Metroid... it's the first time I've ever enjoyed playing an FPS on a console. I've been trying my damnedest to play on the xbox so I can get bioshock and the orange box... but I just can't get used to it.

But I digress... Galaxy rocks. And that's coming from someone who did not like Mario 64. I bought it on the VC and realized I had played it before and didn't like the controls.. haha.
