i have been contemplating a lot on the subject of doing the jane or not.

You can't get addicted to it, you may like it a lot though.

It's worth it to try, if you're curious. Just take it easy, and don't think you can drive while high.

Also, don't drink alcohol while your smoking it, it's a disgusting combo.

Alcohol isn't addictive either, nor is gambling, it's the response your brain gives you that is addictive, it's pretty much the same for most drugs.

I've seen people get high weeks after they haven't smoked at all though, i've seen hash psychosis weeks after they stopped smoking.

There isn't enough data on it to make me want to write it off as harmless, in fact i'd rather my children try amphetamine than marijuana.

😕 ...You actually do get a physical addiction to alcohol, so I don't know what you're on about, there... Of course gambling isn't, though, you don't get any gambling chemicals from it... 😛

I never said it's harmless, either. I told him to "take it easy", right? However, given the data on the effects of amphetamines and cannabis, I'd rather my non-existent kids try the Mary Jane.

What about the endorphins your brain releases?

I tried to form a rational sentence in response to that but all that came out were those confused faces.

Mmm... I get those endorphins from playing crysis demos and having sex, too. The chemicals aren't coming from an intake of a substance. 😛

The endorphins that are released by the food that you eat? I know people that are complete stoners, but sober up before something big (job interview, meeting, etc etc).

No, obviously not those endorphins. How would those make you addicted to gambling?

The interviewer, former Daily Mirror editor Piers Morgan, put it to the star that he had admitted smoking marijuana in the past. In Pumping Iron, the bodybuilding documentary which launched his career 30 years ago, he was shown taking a drag on a spliff.

"That is not a drug. It's a leaf," said Austrian-born Mr Schwarzenegger, 60. "My drug was pumping iron, trust me," he added.

this topic easily goes along with this one

Marijuana Dealers Offer Schwarzenegger One Billion Dollars

so how close is the US from legalizing this leaf..

About as close as New South Wales is to legalizing pot.

is no one going to correct Arnold? it's the dried BUDS we're after, not the leaf 😛

If you really want to get technical, they're not "buds", they're flowers. 😛

I'd rather any children of mine try neither, but to say that meth would be less harmful is silly.

What? Since when is there not enough data to write amphetamines off as dangerous?

you'd figure they might have a small toke to improve confidence, ease pre interview nausea, and possibly calm down the level of nervousness.

The weed I smoked was laced with so much crap. It's not like 30 years ago.

Now all they do is grind up leafs off the road with 1/2 oz of crack and sell it to you for 1000 dollars a dime.

What's really sad is that I heard this very same argument when I was in elementary school, 30 years ago. It's clearly horseshit, because if this were really the case, marijuana would be so strong it would instantly kill you.

My daughter brought home a DARE thing or the like a little while back, and it said the same thing.

I remember DARE. DARE had me brainwashed up until i became curious....I learned about all the cons about drugs but never about the benefits (mj).

remember, kids...this isnt your parent's pot!

premature death...chronic masturbation...self entitlement...consumption of high fructose corn syrup & partially and non-partially hydrogenated oils are all side effects from these new strains of the dread scourge marihuana.

warn your children...before its too late!

There's a new name for this stuff everyday. I can't keep up. I quit.

Purple Haze, Acapulco Red , Black Gold, Black Gungi, Butter Flower, Chocolate Thai, Crying Weed, Red Bud, Sasfras, red hair, Chicago Green, rag reed, stink weed, super grass!!!!

Just give me that crap that looks like pencial shavings please.

I'm not saying that amphetamines are not dangerous but they are in and out of your system in a matter of hours, not so with hash.

Of course i'd prefer them not to be on either, but rather amphetamines than something that is stored in your fucking brain for a period of time.

Besides, all people i know who smoke regularly are stupid, i mean, REALLY stupid, keep in mind that i'm almost 40 and they have been smoking for a long time, it does rot your brain, there is no doubt about that.

I've learned not to talk to them since i'll have to explain everything and they still don't get it when i'm done explaining it.

They're probably just stupid or on other drugs. Or high while you're explaining it to them. I've seen no evidence that long term usage "rots the brain".

Actually, you do get a physical addiction to cannabis too, in the same way, the dopamin response isn't there and you'll get the same anxiety with the same symptoms.

From personal experience i would be happy to allow pretty much any drug except cannabis, there is no other drug that isn't flushed out of your system in a matter of hours, shit that is stored in your brain for extended periods of time will eventually fuck you up.
