whats next, Cocain isnt a drug its a powder?

well if you want to get pc, your comparison is false. cocaine is purified from the cocoa plant; whereas, marijuana is just the plant.

well if you want to get your info correct. cocaine comes from the Coca plant, not the cocoa bean(thats chocolate).

two different plants

🙂

cant believe i made that error -_-

Even worse, there is no cocoa plant. Cocoa beans come from the Cacao tree. 😛

But otherwise, you're right, there is a significant difference between cocaine and marijuana, just as there is between cocaine and the coca leaf. Not all drugs are equal. Drinking coca leaf tea is common in Peru, and its effect is little more than that of a cup of coffee.

You can't really help it that so many people have been brainwashed by the war on drugs propaganda.

..he's correct. the problem is the desire to intoxicate. not the substance.

And how is that desire a "problem" if done in reasonable moderation? Humans also desire sex for reasons of pleasure having nothing to do with reproduction, should we outlaw that too because some sick individuals resort to rape and other abuses?

i have been contemplating a lot on the subject of doing the jane or not.

You can't get addicted to it, you may like it a lot though.

It's worth it to try, if you're curious. Just take it easy, and don't think you can drive while high.

Also, don't drink alcohol while your smoking it, it's a disgusting combo.

specify. you can get mentally addicted to anything. physical addiction is different. and while pot is a leaf, the active ingredient inside that plant is definitely a drug. thats why some hemp strains arent pot.

The most ignorant statement of the day goes to....manowar821!

You can become addicted to anything. Anything. Mental and physical addictions are two different things. You can be physically addicted to pain killers, meth, cocaine, tobacco (nicotine) etc. But you can be mentally addicted to drugs as well, the most popular being ganja.

I wouldn't call the mental flavor an "addiction" so much as I'd call it "being weak".

I never said you can't be mentally "addicted" to it.

My statement wasn't incorrect, rather, I think you were just assuming I was making an idiotic statement instead of thinking about it for two seconds and realizing that "hey, maybe he's talking about LITERAL ADDICTION, and not this mental addiction bull-crap."

Eh. But it's kind of worthless to label something mentally addictive. Watch out, this water is mentally addictive. When something is enjoyable, it has the potential to be mentally addictive. That goes for video games, television, and anything that helps you get laid.

He didn't once mention addiction, so you're the one who brought it up. Physical and mental addictions are both just that, addictions, and are both pretty fucking serious. Suggesting he "try it" because he can't become physically addicted is pretty damn ignorant.

Addiction
the state of being enslaved to a habit or practice or to something that is psychologically or physically habit-forming, as narcotics, to such an extent that its cessation causes severe trauma.

They're both serious issues, both addictions.

haha, not even going to get into the addiction debate on this one 🙂

is no one going to correct Arnold? it's the dried BUDS we're after, not the leaf 😛

The weed I smoked was laced with so much crap. It's not like 30 years ago.

Now all they do is grind up leafs off the road with 1/2 oz of crack and sell it to you for 1000 dollars a dime.

Alright, so am I addicted to pomegranate or cranberry juice because I desire to drink it all day, every day? Thats about as "addicted" as you can get to cannabis. The simple desire is there because it feels/tastes good, but I can literally stop drinking it any time I like.

That definition is so vague, too. You could be talking about a psychological effect due to chemical addiction in the brain, causing a psychological "need" for whatever drug is in question.

1 out of 3 tries is not bad. Unfortunately the bad stuff happened twice in a row where I thought I was going to die with my head in the toilet. That's what happens I guess when you get it "free" from a friend (who obviously must of built up a tolerance to the strong stuff).

Alcohol isn't addictive either, nor is gambling, it's the response your brain gives you that is addictive, it's pretty much the same for most drugs.

I've seen people get high weeks after they haven't smoked at all though, i've seen hash psychosis weeks after they stopped smoking.

There isn't enough data on it to make me want to write it off as harmless, in fact i'd rather my children try amphetamine than marijuana.

I'd need some sort of evidence to believe that
There isn't enough data on it to make me want to write it off as harmless, in fact i'd rather my children try amphetamine than marijuana.

And that just strikes me as crazy.
