Lame post. This is the source, a UK blogger who said this:

It would appear that the reasons go deeper than Thatcher's frail health. Her allies believe that Palin is a frivolous figure who is unworthy of an audience with the Iron Lady. This is what one ally tells me:

Lady Thatcher will not be seeing Sarah Palin. That would be belittling for Margaret. Sarah Palin is nuts.

There is plenty of negative stuff out there to post about Palin without resorting to this type of lame non-story. The Palin emails will keep you guys going for years.

Good for Margaret Thatcher. I agree with her. The media is being pathetic by giving Sarah Palin as much time as they do. Does she really have as much support as the media portrays? The only ones that seem to want her in the spotlight are the Dems. GOP just wishes she would go away.

At this point Palin has a symbiotic relationship with the liberal members of the media. They like to cover her because she makes republicans look bad, and she likes the coverage because it helps her sell books or however she makes money from this nonsense.

Horsefeathers. Palin is interesting to liberals because she is virtually a walking parody of the braindead section of the GOP. She's like any other trainwreck, it's hard to look away. Over and over righties parrot this line, but the fact of the matter is Palin still draws big crowds wherever she goes. And those people throwing money at her and going to her events aren't liberals-they are diehard teabaggers.

One of the all time conservative icons realizes how much of a media whore this chick is. Love how much right wing talkers and Fox News trys to build her up as a serious candidate. The most scary thing is not her but all those people who fall for it.

Kudos Maggie!

You are the fool for thinking she is going to run.

The leftist media hounds her to deter her from running. She has no intention to run and does nothing but make money, build publicity, and eat away the resources of the left media who destroyed her in her 2008 bid. Not to mention doing this dilutes the left's attack 'smear' campaign against the GOP's real candidates.

Her bus trip is nothing but win/win for her and GOP, while leftist media gets nothing but lame ass doctored shit they put out anyway and a big ass bill for covering the trip.

They also know she drives the Left nuts.

The left LOVES Sarah Palin, because she reinforces everything they believe about the ignorance of tea partiers and the far right. Every word out of her mouth is like an embarrassment to the Republican Establishment and the worst part is they can't get rid of her without alienating her base.

Plus, if she was nominated it's Obama gaurenteed second term, and the whole campaign trail would be a bigger circus than 2008 McCain campaign, when she was only VP.

Keep telling yourself that she drives the left nuts though! LOL

The knot heads that keep attacking her are making her rich. If she would read this thread she would be laughing so hard she would not be able to push the total button on the cash register. It would be my best guess that she has more real friends and of course more money than any poster in this thread. I am not a supporter I just cannot figure out why all the hatred toward her. There is one more thing I cannot understand is that people say she is not smart enough to be a Vice President well what about Biden? The Country is in horrible shape and smart people smarter then Sarah have been running the Country for how long?

FRom the article-

What he doesn't understand is that Palin's nutsiness is not a partisan matter in Britain, or anywhere else in the world. It is an obvious truth marvelled at by all. Palin's emergence as a serious figure in American politics has made the country a laughing stock across the world. The idea that a stateswoman like Thatcher, in advanced dementia, would be used by such a crackpot is simply unseemly.

Of course American Righties don't care what anybody outside of their echo chamber thinks, because they're nuts in their own demented way, too.

Palin won't run because she's smart enough to know that nobody is going to beat Obama as an incumbent. She's crazy alright... crazy like a fox. She has her sights on 2016.

I'm not a big fan of Palin but I find her haters amusing. What's really funny is all the people that right now are desperately digging through the hundreds of thousands of pages of her emails just looking for any scrap of dirt on her.

I'll agree with the first two sentences, but she doesn't always draw big crowds, it's hit or miss. I would say her base is at most 20% of the right half of the country, probably less than that.

Shush, don't tell the dimlibs that, let them keep foaming at the mouth and focus on her.

you should be concerned, because if liberals are successful as portraying palin as representative of the republican party (and in large part, imo, she is) then any other republican with her shitstain on them will suffer in elections.

"There's a story out there today, and it's an illustration of how things happen, how things are said and reported," Limbaugh told his listeners. "This is preposterous, and I have personal knowledge of this."

LOL, Rush admits to having personal knowledge of preposterous??

last I heard, Thacher is practically on her death bed and suffering from dementia.
Ah, that explains it. Everyone suffering from dementia thinks Palin is nuts.

On the other hand, they seem to fawn over Obama. I'm just sayin'. . .

I certainly try to have as open of a mind as possible since I've moderated my political views over the years, but I can honestly say that anyone why seriously wants Sarah Palin to be president is an idiot. Being that I live in Alabama, this includes many people I know, including both my mother and my sister. I think the only reason they like her is that she is so simple and homely, and well just plain dumb, that they feel they are sticking it to the "educated elite" out there by supporting her.

Big surprise, it turns out that it was all made up:

Margaret Thatcher did not ‘snub’ Sarah Palin: The truth about the Iron Lady and the former Governor of Alaska

I have spoken to Lady Thatcher’s Private Office regarding the story, and they confirm that the attack on Sarah Palin definitely did not come from her office, and in no way reflects her views. As a former aide to Margaret Thatcher myself, I can attest that this kind of thinking is entirely alien to her, and that such remarks would never be made by her office. She has always warmly welcomed like-minded figures in the United States, and has in the past met with numerous US presidential candidates and political dignitaries when they have visited London. But at the age of 85 she is now able to receive very few visitors at all.

There was never any snub of Sarah Palin by Lady Thatcher’s office. However, there has been a great deal of mischief-making and unpleasantness from sections of the liberal press in a vain and futile attempt to use Margaret Thatcher’s name to smear a major US politician.

And just in case anyone questions this, it was posted by Nile Gardiner, who is much closer to Mrs. Thatcher than some anonymous "ally":

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nile_Gardiner

Following Yale, Gardiner served as a foreign policy researcher and aide to former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, assisting her as she wrote Statecraft: Strategies for a Changing World, and advising her on international policy. In 2002, He became a Heritage Foundation fellow in Washington, D.C., specializing in Anglo-American security policy. He was appointed director of Heritage's Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom in 2006.
