mapping a drive thats not on my network

i have a couple of shared folders on my computer, and i have remote desktop working. i was wondering if i could map those folders to my comp at work using the public IP given to my router and using the port used for remote desktop? or can you think of another way

Are you using the native remote desktop feature of windows? if so it has a "Share my drives" option.

Do you want to set up a permanent link, one that does not depend on running a remote desktop connection?

UltraVNC lets you copy files as part of it's client/server.

Making a normal "Flie Share" is going to be hard, and very very unsafe. You need a VPN connection, or some sort of encrypted tunneling, such as SSH port forwarding.
