A weak teacher is one who can't find any way to control their kids besides yelling at them (Or hitting them, before my generation) I'm proud to say that my parents have great control over the kids they are responsible for.

Now I know your just flat out lying.

No more troll for you.

Why would I be lying?
Everything I said is true.

Sure it is. Your a shining beacon of light and tranquility, which you got from your parents, whose mere presence brings calm to the masses around them.

Sure it is.

Why didn't the manager hit him in the shin with a bat. Open handed smacks are for sissies.

I agree. Children respect no one because the worst that is going to happen to them is a little screaming or getting "grounded." Sh!t, I never would have listened if that was all that would have happened to me.

I disagree.

you want a bunch of brats running around or a disciplined posterity?

You lay a hand on my kid, you better be ready to defend yourself.

It's the parents' place to decide who physically disciplines a kid, and if it occurs at all.

Right On

Nope. But I know that violence doesn't work on most kids in the long run, and sometimes it can have a negative effect.

agreed 100%. apparently, someone else other than me has read the 50 year long study on physical vs non-physical punishment.

I disagree.

And your children will be overbearing pussys

So my children will be pussys if I don't hit them? I know that isn't true.

And history seems to shoot your cute little feel good theory to sh1t.
I'll assume of you the same I assume of Joe.
You HAVE to be a liberal.
Only a liberal would say something like "While it may work, I disagree with it because it doesnt feel good".

A righteous result is truly not a righteous result if the path to get there was not righteous in the first place.

The same could be said for every generation.

Previous generations to ours have as a whole been more respectful of their peers and elders.
Exceptions to the rules of course, I'm simply speaking as a whole. Remember watching those old TV shows?
Like it or not, TV reflects cultural values and norms. There was a reason on TV they always said "Yes ma'am" and "no Ma'am" and "Yes sir" and "no sir".
Today? On TV they say "Whatever" and "sure", and funny enough its the same thing with the children.

correctamundo! GIVE THAT MAN A GOLD STAR!

As I said, truly a liberal.
"It doesnt feel good, therefore it must not be good".

Feel good emotions are the worst position to make judgements from.

Again, you hear more and more about children being more and more undisciplined, teachers being more and more tied in what they can do and even to the point of teachers being afraid to go to school to even teach.

Feel good emotions do not give effective solutions.

Not if you do it correctly. Discipline is different than abuse. One is done to teach and instruct, the other is done to vent anger.

Are you going to be one of those parents who manslaughters the coach because he smacked your kid for cussing on live national TV?

No, but I would knock your ass the fvck out.

You don't hit another persons' kid. It's that simple. Doesn't matter how much they deserve it.

Are you going to be one of those parents who assaults the coach because he smacked your kid for cussing on live national TV?

While I largely agree with JS80's comments, I have to agree on this, too. If you think my kid is unruly, bring your beef to me. Lay a hand on my kid, and I'll send your ass to the hospital and mine to jail. I'll deal with the consequences later.

what if you're (not YOU, but YOUSE) a bad parent?

What don't you get about what I'm saying? You slap my 12 year old kid, in almost any situation (one example of an exception would be he's causing bodily harm to another individual), I don't care who you are, you're going to get hit.

You assault my kid, I'm going to assault you.

I think that when your son/daughter plays sports the coach is the boss (within reason). I think the coach did the right thing, and I think it's sad and pathetic that people are getting their panties in a bunch over it.
