It's very uncommon for Ford until recent chip shortages.Actually, NWRMidnight has it right.
Vehicle made in 2006. Final manufacture can then be finished second half of 2007, mainly cosmetic addons, tires, wipers, soft things that do not age well. Then the vechile can be sold as the 2008 model. This is very common in certain model lines.
A 2008 model year would have been made in 2nd quarter 2007 at the earliest. Besides, what year they start making it doesn't matter, whether it has pats depends on the assembly line model year changeover so if they're making 2008 model year, it's using pats designed many years earlier.
I have now exceeded my interest in posting about a dead thief's situation. Even in the most optimistic longshot theory, it's still darwinism.
