if getting thrown 30 feet - WITHOUT A HEAD - onto ashpalt did not kill him, getting run over on the interstate sure did.

Fixed

LOL. You may have just invited some karmic payback with that correction.

Link to story

The video was from the trooper's in-car dash camera.

edit: Here's a link to the video. Not graphic, but the screams were just horrible, and I hate seeing/hearing the good guy (22 year-old rookie cop with a wife and baby) die.

People like that should be tortured. And it should be legal. He doesn't deserve to live or die (quickly). :|

THERE'S NO SUCH FVCKING THING AS CENTRIFUGAL FORCE!!

Technically, there is no such thing as the centripetal force, either.

actually centrifugal force can be a real, and centripital force IS real. there is a reactive and a fictitious centrifugal force.

reactive is the equal and opposite reaction to centripital. fictitious happens when you try to describe a system in a rotating intertial frame.

iluvtruenos, before you go spouting off garbage maybe you should check your facts.

there are a whole lot of college (heck, even high/middle schoole) newtonian physics courses that would disagree with your statement.

He's trying to bait you...he said "the" centripital force.

i gave a brief description of it above your post, but you probably didnt see it yet. im tired of people claiming there is no such force when there most definitely is.

That video of the traffic cop getting shot in his car by some maniac redneck with an M16 (and the cop's screams) was enough for me to no longer click the "graphic photo/video" links here.

What video is this? Linky?

He was hit by 2 black vehicles 9first one just knocked him where his head shoulda been)
I hope he didnt see it coming, was probably dead upon ejection.

And is not the correct semantics centripetal acceleration? That it really matters how you call it, most know it by either terminology. Except the driver...and best as I can tell his hat rack does appear to exit vehicle in opposite direction (to the right)
but I cant get the file from that link anymore..

it isnt semantics since they are different forces....

Pretty sure he doesn't lose his head, as I see a white spot (which is presumably his face), above where his shirt collar area is at least twice as he's flipping mid-air, and once on the ground too. I'm curious to see the aftermath pics though. That should confirm it. Someone earlier said they had em, I haven't seen em yet.

And that cop video was disturbing. I wonder why the cop wasn't more aggressive though. I'm sure I would have fired as soon as I saw the guy with a gun. I guess it's hard to tell what you'd do in such a life or death situation though.

Then you didn't see the one where the guy hung himself jumping over a fence

Edit: i thought you were talking about the OP. I refuse to click on the cop link

Where's the one with the guy that hung himself jumping over a fence. Never seen or heard of that one before.
[/quote]If I recall what you're referring to, its the Rastafarian who jumped off an overpass and landed on a wrought iron fence...WITH HIS NECK. Instant decapitation and his head got stuck on the fence, with his body sprawled out below and blood streaming from the neck. He didn't hang himself, he hung his head [in shame!].

There is no such thing as a "centrifugal force". What we call centrifugal "force" is actually the observation of Newton's first law (Law of Inertia) in the absence of a centripetal force.

In this case, a seat belt would have provided the required centripetal force to keep the body in rotational motion within the vehicle; without it the body maintained a linear path of motion due to Newton's first law.

This is the same as when stone is released from a sling; the velocity of the stone at any instant is tangent to the path of circular motion, and when the centripetal force is removed by releasing the sling, the rock leaves under its own inertia in a straight line and maintains the instantaneous tangent velocity present at the moment the sling was released.
