Car salesman is a freakin' moron.

Even when I test drove a brand new Saturn S series (on sale for $9,995) they took a PHOTOCOPY of my driver's license and insurance information before giving me the keys.

That's so they can run your credit. When I went car shopping recently, when they asked for my license, I showed them, but did not allow them to photocopy it. I dont want my credit score being beaten up just because they want to look.

They can't run a credit report from your drivers license unless you wrote your social security number on it.

Thats just low. Real low.

The fact that you went to test drive a Saturn.
Yes, I like how he put the price in there, but it doesn't excuse it.

Stealing ferraris IS cool.

Ok I admit it, I came very close to buying a Saturn S series ... what happens now?

Banishment?

No, but 48hrs of intense psychotherapy to rid you of any future urge to even THINK of walking into a Saturn dealership!

Might even involve electric shock, needles, and handcuffs.

I actually believe that that's worse than me being so cheap I'm still on dialup at home.

if you are going to buy a saturn, might as well cough up some more and get the Hyundai Tiburon GT. NOT a bad car, very good warranty, and can kick the living crap out of a civic. All for less than $19,000.

LOL

In retrospect I was a dumb ass blinded by the super low price.

I should have considered a new Hyundai Elantra GLS automatic for $10,500.

man that salesman has got to be one of the stupidest persons on earth

That is a little harsh. I bet you 9/10 people wouldn't have thought twice about getting out of the car before the test driver.

The stupid part was not forcing the test driver to produce a valid ID. I can maybe understand for a Saturn, but a Ferrari. 😕

$9k is a lot of coughing up if he could get the crapurn for only $10k! A sentra SE-R Spec V will beat the GT and can be had for less than $19k as well. No leather true, but with the money you save on gas (the tiburon gets worse gas mileage than a Sherman), you can get it installed 😀

The salesmen can be blamed for not getting ID.....but c'mon - can you imagine the commission on selling a 730k car!?!?

Even for a piece of crap like a Hyundai you have to sign some papers and show some id and all this stuff before you can even test drive. How the heck did this guy fall for this crap? Maybe he was thinking "i don't want to piss off a guy who might purchase this and make me rich" so then he let the wallet story go.

The other crazy thing is how the ferrari wasn't spotted anywhere. Even if it was on its way to a shipyard someone must have seen it.

My guess is that they quickly took it to a planned hideout where it was loaded onto a truck and covered and then taken straight to the docks.

He probably figured he was safe if he was in the vehicle with him.

Either that or he was in on it.

Either way, the dealership's phone number is 610-527-1100.

Call them up & try to schedule a test drive with the F50.

Can you imagine the feeling in the salesman's gut as the thief drives off? I imagine it's something like when your life flashes before your eyes.

Ouch, that would suck. I hope they find it. With the rarity of the car, it will be hard to keep it hidden/unnoticed.

It will probably end up in a massive garage owned by some sheik who doesn't care whether anybody sees it but him.

I'd gladly pay you $650K for it. You see, a company is sending me a MO in the ammount of $937K for payment for services rendered. I'll have them cut the check to you and you can wire me the difference via Western Union.

Thanks,
Gupta Ansilaw, Crown Prince in Waiting, Romania.
