Then my sarcasm meter must be broke. Because I though he was trying to be sarcastic about it.

Hmmmm Got to get that fixed soon.

People who are injured through their own stupidity should not be able to sponge off of the taxpayers. I.E No helmet when riding motor cycles, smoking when pumping gas, drinking and driving, etc.

Yes! I hope we come to that conclusion as a country some day.... Morons who disregard their own health/safety through sheer stupidity deserve no sympathy, and thus, no support.

Why should I have to pay for this persons injuries and illnesses that happend through no fault of mine? I did not make him smoke, which is probably going to cause him cancer or heart disease. I did not make him smoke, which caused the gasoline to ignite and burn him.
I do not make the person on the motorcycle ride without a helmet, and then wraps his bike around a telephone pole and spends the rest of his life as a drooling twit being fed baby food through a tube.

Why should my tax dollars go to pay for idiots like these. When that money could be spent on those who, through no fault of their own, become sick or injured. Like the cancer patients down in the childrens hospital. Those kids did nothing to get sick. Or perhaps the teenager who is riding his bike home from school and gets hit by a driver who swerves off the road. Or maybe the guy who is out with his wife at dinner and is walking to the car and is shot during a mugging. These people did nothing stupid, but becuase of idiots like the guy at the gas station, fewer dollars are able to go around to those who did not do anything stupid.

I hear this argument a lot. I've always wondered what this tax is that we pay that pays for stupid people getting injured? I'm not disagreeing with you...just asking for clarification. I don't recall paying any specific tax that is denoted for such things....

I bet the gas station will get sued, even though they do have warning signs.

Actually, I hope they send him a bill for repairs to the gas station.

Medicare and Medicaid. More than likely this poor imatation of Johnny Storm of the Fantastic Four has no insurance of his own. I mean look at the facts of the article. He is 26, drives a 30 year old truck, and smokes, and smokes while pumping gas. He is obviously too stupid to make the correct decisions in life. So more than likely he is not in college, works a job with no benefits, is too stupid to worry about getting any insurance for himself (gotta pay for them smokes man), therefore it falls back on the taxpayers in this country to pay his medical bills through medicare and medicaid. and if his state has something similar, then the taxpayers in his state will foot part of the bill as well.

I would call the owner of the company and let them know that your bus driver is endangering not only the equipment, but the passengers as well.

However, it takes a lot to get diesel to burn and explode.

w00t! another local idiot has been removed from this city's 'already svck-ass' transportation grid.

That was either the Circle K or the AM/PM that he got bbq'd at, if I'm not mistaken.

Also, even if the schmuck does have health insurance, the cost of everyone's insurance will go up to help pay for his healthcare.

Because it is the stations fault gasoline is highly combustable. ;)

This is primarily the reason why I hate people.

Take warning labels off of everything obvious. Drink bleach? Your fvcked. Playing in a dumpster when the garbage man comes? Your fvcked. etc.

It's a natural part of evolution and I think we get involved too much.

Doubt it was absent minded. Smokers tend to be self-absorbed jerks. "I'll smoke at the pump if I damn well please". I'm glad he didn't injure anyone else.

Imagine the hilarity if he was once an atoter and someone once told him DIAF. Or the irony if he told someone else to.
