So apparently, if this referendum doesn't pass, we lose every single extracurricular activity, half of the non-tenured teachers, and a bunch of other stuff. here's what irks me, though.
The proposed tax hike is going to come out to an average of FORTY DOLLARS a year. To be honest, if you can't scrape that together for the education of your next generation, then you make me sick.
And it is, almost assuredly, not going to pass.
EDIT: Here's the problem: several big corporations in the area have been going abck quite a few years and "reassessing" their taxes. They then pull the money out of the school because it's considered to be improperly paid. motorola just did this for a very large, undisclosed sum.
