I bet he'd like to have another go at it to see if he can get enough air to clear that landing.
That's gotta suck to go through all that "look at me" drama only to go splat where no one can see you.
Maybe the next jumper will have the good sense to check the wind speed/direction 😀

What happens to a person for real when they jump from a very tall building and hit a flat surface ?

Their carcass hits the pavement or any available surface at ~135mph and the same thing happens as when you drop meat from that height with the exception that some of the body parts are under pressure and some of the chemicals might react with that energy to create a larger "meat-impact residual-radius"

In simple terms please.
meat-impact residual-radius=large grease spot=get the cleaning ladies, stat.

Ted Nugent ~ Dog Eat Dog

Sabotage on a downtown street
Police cars overturned
You can't do nothing to beat the heat
And if you don't, you'll get burned

Sleek women behind every door
Cost more than you got
You best be up if
You want some more
Cause if you don't
You'll be shot

Dog, dog, dog eat dog
Log on
Dog, dog, dog eat dog
Dog, dog, dog eat dog

Kamikaze from
The hundredth floor
Swan dive to the street
He couldn't handle
This madness no more
He craved that sweeter meat

Yeah, yeah, yeah
Dog, dog, dog eat dog
Dog, dog, dog eat dog
Dog, dog, dog eat dog

Dog, dog, dog eat dog
Dog, dog, dog eat dog
Dog, dog, dog eat dog.....

In Toronto, a few years back, a guy jumped through the glass roof of the Eaton's centre. He some how got access to an office tower roof right next to the place. Jumped, came through the glass roof and hit a hand railling down in the mall.

As once eloquently put in a passage from a newspaper where people had submitted short stories:

His body hit the pavement like a Hefty bag full of vegetable soup

Whatever you do, don't search Google for jumper.
I have safe search turned off.
BTW, not for the faint of heart.

I think committing suicide by jumping would be pretty sh!tty. Especially having to fall 80 floors before you hit.

They say most people who jump from tall places are dead from a heart attack before they hit the ground.

ya they say that but how do they know 🙂 who lived to find out? 😛

I was just wondering how the police knew he died instantly when he hit the deck (as it were), rather than before or after?

At least 31 other people have committed suicide at the Empire State Building since it opened in 1931. More than 3.8 million people visit the tourist attraction each year, according to the building's Web site.

Let's see, that's about 2+ jumpers/year. OUCH!!!

WOW
