And for 250k, you can get a 4bedroom, 3 car garage, 3000 sq ft home in a kid-freindy neighborhood. Also electricity costs are relatively lower. And everything is just so much bigger down there.. hehe :p

I was thinkin about moving to the Houston area. Not sure though.

What's stopping you? It's a free country...or do you have to apply for citizenship in Texas now?

Yes you do but it's easy if you can draw quickly from your holster.

QFT. Everyone I know who's moved there has moved back within a couple years.

My Mother-In-Law is from there and my wife has been there many times to visit relatives and she hates it there. So, I'll pretty much never live there...which is fine with me.

Fixed. 5th largest economy in the world, beaches, babes, deserts, mountains, the ocean. No way Texas can compare.

Actualy Texas has all of those things also... well maybe not the 5th largest economy, but the rest of it we got covered.

You haven't been to Galveston, beaches there rock. Go out east for woods, hill country, down farther south, go west for desert. Texas is a country all it's own.

Texas for the win.

Uh... no.

You are comparing the social and economic capitals of America to a relatively useless state.

Amazing how the 5th largest economy can't balance it's own state budget, for the past decade. Stating it's on of the largest economies has to be one of the lamest reasons to list why a state is "cool".

If you have never been to Texas, or any other state yourself, how can one fully judge. Hearsay by others. Each state has it's own fair share of good, and bad.
