Yeah, I agree that the music is too narrow. The songs are not only about the same thing, but they all sound similar. Maybe I'll spice things up next week and play the Hymn of the Soviet Union instead of the National Anthem. Just to see how many calls I can get. :)

OK, well, if you were a news/sports/talk station in California you'd be playing... (checks kgo.com...) some non-christian talk shows all morning...

Californians are a bunch of hathens who change the station when christian music comes on :)

Chevelle's my favorite Christian band right now. Cold is my favorite band all around, though, lately. :)

Third Day is absolutely awesome! They play real rock music, and play it well!!! Yzzim, you are one lucky man!

While we are at it, add SONICFLOOd, Jars Of Clay, Salvador, Plumb, Anointed, Trinnitee 5:7 etc. to the list of great Christian groups. You cannot listen to these bands and still maintain that all contemporary Christian music sounds the same.

Except for Christian writing, but lots of Christians are now believing that to be evil, too.

If you think all Christian Music is boring, old fuddy duddy stuff, check out: POD, Pillar, East West, Demon Hunter, Living Sacrifice, Zao.....you will soon see that only the ignorant and uninformed generalize an entire genre of music into one small category (ie Michael W Smith, Rebecca St.James, Amy Grant :) ). IF you don't like super heavy check out Third Day (awesome singer), Tommy Walker, Matt Redman...they have some upbeat praise and worship songs.

Slayer, Rob Zombie and MM. :D

POD is okay, that's like the only Christian band I can stand.

yeah Christian music is utterly boring. The problem with christian music is what they're looking to do. They're looking to praise God and Jesus and all that crap first, and make good music second. And most of theh time the get lazy after they do the first part. That's why secular bands are good because all they care about is making good music. Sure sometimes they look to put a message in their music, but since it's not the same freaking message everytime, they can put more effort into making it good.

"If you want to get your soul to heaven, trust in me now don't you judge or question. You are broken now but faith can heal you, just do everything I tell you to do. Deaf and blind and dumb and born to follow, what you need is someone strong to guide you. Deaf and blind and dumb and born to follow, let me lay my holy hand upon you."
Tool - Opiate (No it's not a religious song, it's actually very anti-religious. And I loved the song long before I ever realized what most of the lyrics were)

I like Jars of Clay. I didn't even know that they were Christian when I started listening to them.

If you like POD you have to try Pillar. Very clear sound and sounded just like POD to me, even a little better imo
