Someone shot up a Democratic HQ this weekend also with a bunch of people in it. The good old USA right wing, It may be the 21st century -but fascism never went out of style.

Just censor/disband the GOP until they renounce their terrorism/extremism element. And to be fair the Dems too so righties dont cry. We could use new parties.

Science tells us that the part of the brain that involves fear is larger than in liberals and the part of the brain that moderates emotional reactions from influencing reason are larger in liberals. The implications are that conservatives respond to paranoid ideas more than liberals do and that knowing this conservative politicians sell paranoia to win elections. This can be observed but perhaps only by folk who are not caught up in these paranoid altered realities.

The result is that conservatives sell Obama as a dangerous other, a Kenya socialist, a Muslim plant, a non American. They spend billions pouring this shit into the population to win, and when it takes root in a person who is already around the bend the results can be as we see here. Fear and violence go hand and hand. So this guy didn't kill his family because he's a conservative, he killed them because conservative madness and his own madness conjoined. He had a conservative propagandized and a crazy brain.

But this incitement to violence and paranoid delusion conservatives sell will not be phased by this because the goal of demonization of Obama is to win. If a few people get killed in the madness they sell, so be it.

The fact is the conservative mind is more susceptible to altered reality thinking than the liberal mind is. There is only one conclusion I would draw from this and it's that conservatives of good conscience should try to dial back the demonization approach to their campaigns. It's an incitement to insanity. There will even be liberals who conclude, after due and careful pretended though actually rationally insane consideration, that their own families or conservatives themselves don't deserve to live, folk like the Unibomber, for example. It is really immoral to demonize others to win.

Those who stoop so low as to broadly slam conservatives for the actions of a mentally ill person are likely to have mental illness issues themselves.
Oh, but just yesterday it was cool to slam Democrats for the "Obamaphone" video.

You guys are so effing backwards on this forum.

What a tragedy.

Unfortunately, all major news outlets and politicians want the public scared of the other side. It's sad that fear can make someone go to such extremes.

I wonder if the family could sue the propaganda outlets like Drudge or Fox News for accelerating his already paranoid delusional state. Be interesting.

Let's sue video games, movies and music too for causing people to act out violently while we are at it.

There have been cases, have they been won? No. Obviously, due to 1st amendment issues the case would go nowhere. But, there are some creative, and aggressive ambulance chasers out there.

Consumers need to stand up and demand a higher standard of news and entertainment. Right now they lap up whatever fecal matter is spewed from the TV, internet, and radio.

You poor poor deluded fool. The science that you say was debunked you debunked like the church debunked Galileo. The science says that conservatives deny science when it conflicts with their delusions, and that the more the science is proven right the more conservatives deny it. You wouldn't know what debunked is even when it bites you in the ass.

But I will look at any scientific evidence from scientists that says what I've said is bunk. Good luck with that. Scientific evidence only please. And please do give me the evidence because you know what's at stake. It will mean that I am on God height and you're the worst piece of shit on the planet if you can't. You have got to prove me wrong or you're nothing. Everything you believe, everything that's good, your god and your religion, all in the toilet, so get busy.

This incident was the product of florid mental illness. Even if the election was the specific trigger for what occurred, I don't think it's fair to call this a politically-motivated crime or to imply that there is any larger generalized trend of crazy, violent Republicans.

You don't remember all the conservatives in that thread who wanted her dead? Millions of black people's lives have been ruined by bigoted conservative demonization of black called racism. Poking fun, my ass.

How did the election get to be a trigger?

Probably some hybrid of genuine concern about the way the shooter perceived society going under a second Obama term combined with a psychotic beliefs about the severity and long-term impact of this on his family's lives. The point is, he was nuts.

Wow just wow, this is the mentally of some of the people in the republican party, they would kill the family out of fear of Obama winning. I know they say he was mentally ill, but it seems mental illness and conservatism seem to run hand in hand.

Repubs can be scary, just imagine if Romney wins it will be much worse.

I rather think the point is why did being nuts take the form it did. A party that plays on the naturally amplified paranoia of conservatives to motivate them to vote also stokes more insane paranoia. When you have a continuum of paranoia natural to a population going from indifferent to insane, if you push that button to win as a party you are doing evil and evil is something that conservatives, with all their five to two moral factors over liberals still do. My point then, is that any conservative who wishes not to partake of this evil should dial back the paranoia pushing to win. Better to lose and retain your humanity than to win and be a piece of shit.

Conservativism is a mental disease
Conservatism is an evolutionary adaption with group survival benefits that helped human groups out-compete other human and animal groups in situations where such competition exists.

In the modern world group competition, particularly with nuclear weapons, threatens the whole human race. What in one situation is an adaptive benefit in another becomes a liability so it is not a mental disease but a situational plus or minus.

Conservatives have three important moral frameworks that liberals generally lack that create team cohesion and team spirit. This is great when you are playing a sport and want to win, but a disaster when the demonization of the other team that so propels the will to win, turns against your own people. When the group is conservatives against liberals and they are all American, conservatives become cannibals. They destroy the very people who have the antidote to their particular misapplication of a survival technique, the capacity to reason more dispassionately and see that we are all on the same team and that internecine warfare is insane. Without an external enemy to direct their adaptive abilities toward, that ability turns on teams that are part of the same league. They destroy their own civilization by demonizing a part of it.

Moonie, I can't speak for other people. I personally thought it was funny that she thought Obama gave her a free phone. If you recall, I was the one who posted the link showing that the program has been around since the 90s. I don't recall anyone wanting her dead...however, I'll go on record that I think they're insane if that's true. Do you think I'm evil for thinking it was funny?

I don't know the reason why exactly, but it seems to me that at work, the most boisterous and fervently motivated members of the crew are Repubs. Myself, I don't discuss politics (or religion) at work because it tends to promote divisiveness and ruin friendships.

That being said, I have noticed the Repubs in the crew becoming ever more loud, ever more desperate, frustrated and incessantly vocal in their behavior as the election season progresses. Although clearly outnumbered by those who either aren't Repubs or like me, don't like to talk politics at work, they make up for it by interjecting their Repub talking points into "normal" everyday topics every chance they get. It's like they're bipolar, being obsessed, or paranoid, or in the grip of some kind of emotionally inspired frame of mind that for me, shows the classic signs of manic behavior interrupted by periods of angry depression.

Because of their behavior, most folks avoid their company knowing the topic of disucssion will invariably end up being whatever Limbaugh, FOX and the conservative AM radio stations are pushing that morning.

They play their radios the loudest whenever they're listening to their daily dose of rightie AM ralk shows. I have my suspicions but never approached them to find out why they do that. Best to leave them alone lest I become a target of their ire, IMO.

I admire their passion, but I just don't like it when they go out of their way in their attempts to convince others to think as they do politics-wise. It's a turn-off and they really don't mind at all doing it.

However, politics aside, they're capable of being "normal" folks that get along with everybody else, seemingly likable and disarming with healthy dispositions.

OTOH, there aren't any Dems in the crew that are so....."motivated" as the Repubs in the crew are, and I wonder why is that?

Wait a minute, I thought Cybrtroll just announced the other day that only conservatives were normal, well adjusted people.

Anyway, this is another garbage troll thread that should be locked.

he worked as a defense contractor. she worked for a company that specialized in defense, law enforcement, and intelligence. possible that one came across restricted information and were murdered to keep them quiet?

Yeah...that makes the most sense to me.

It's all a big conspiracy, much like the moon landing, 9/11, etc.
