Male Pedicures

My teammate came in today and was asking our female coworkers whether it is normal for a man to get a pedicure. Apparently his girlfriend is trying to talk him into it.

Another guy I work with readily admits that he gets them regularly. I'm not too sure about that guy though.

Anyway, what are your thoughts?

I've never had one - that doesn't mean I couldn't use one though. My wife complains about my feet a lot.

Let me tell you something from a female perspective:

Feet (in general) are ugly. Male feet are usually very... ah... "rugged". With spring/summer, you see a lot of flip flops and sandals worn by men. It is just plain gross to see gunked up nails, rough heels and toes, etc.

If you are secure enough to get a pedicure, do it... I don't expect you to get nail polish (even clear) but a good pedicure will clean the nails, trim them, take the rough parts of the feet away and give a general look of "I care about my hygiene" to others.

Just my opinion.

Thanks for a female perspective. My feet are definitely "rugged", but it doesn't bother me enough to pay someone else to deal with them. I wash them and trim the nails at least once a quarter. Unless I'm going barefoot often, then they just kinda take care of themselves.

I know I would be better off with a pro doing my nails. I always cut too much which leads to in-grown...

I don't know exactly why, but that cracked me up.

Men on here won't listen to you lol, I remember commenting on a thread saying I've gotten a few Manicures, which rank way lower on the homo/metro scale and the dudes on here were going apeshit over it haha.

For a buncha computer nerds/geeks ATOT is sure full of ultra rugged, outdoors, hiking, hunting bears with a pocket knife type. I had no idea.

I've never gotten a Pedicure, but my lady commented on my feet last time I saw her - and it wasn't in a nice way. So I might do it next weekend.

I understand that saying what I say might annoy some but I am trying to offer an honest, female opinion. Others can take it or leave it.

I'd get a manicure if my fiance wanted me to. I'm not going to get one on my own, but what do I care if she wants to pay money to make my feet look better for her benefit. I'm 6'9"... I can't hardly even see my feet way down there.

What I think is important is:
1) I would never go on my own just because I WANTED one
2) I would never pay a dime of my own money

Some would question why I would put myself through that, but my answer is simple: if she's paying for it and it makes her happy, all I have to do is sit there for about 1/2 hour or so... that has to be the easiest way to make a woman happy that I've ever heard of.

Heh, my wife suggested I get a pedicure once...I told her she's fucking nuts. My feet are clean and the nails are trimmed, that's as far as it goes. :)

I never have purchased a pedicure/manicure.

My wife has pedicured my feet for me. I generally cut and file the nails and buff/lotion the heel or calluses. I sometimes even throw on a "manly" shade of nail polish.

I'm one gorgeous bitch when I'm done up. :p

I would love to have a pedicure, manicure, facial, whatever if they were free. I'm not paying $20-30 for to get my feet cleaned though.

A real man's manicure consists of sharpening his nails with a brick and painting them by thrusting his fist through the chest cavity of a live polar bear.

If she's pushing it, there must be something wrong with the guy's feet.

No I wouldn't get a professional pedicure, but I let my woman pamper my footses if she desires.

I'm sorry... I laughed when I read that.

On topic: No, I would never get a pedicure.

I understand you, and I think it's good a woman chimes in, a damn shame a lot of these men still won't listen. Apparently ATOT men are expects on the wemens, and they don't need any input who knew?

I agree that your feet should be clean. If your feet are gunked up, get a stiff bristle brush and some soap and get that part of your body clean. A pedicure is not the answer to poor hygiene.
