[male] knee question

basically, I have knees that seem to point in a diagonal direction about 30deg off of center and was always interested in seeing why this was and what it means.

Basically, it seems that my knees are more suitable for lifting than running due to the emphasis that they seem to provide for balance.

info:
-for my build i have very good balance in soccer and even when I get jostled around I recover pretty well

- I am not the greatest runner but do about 4km in ~18-24min at least 2 times a week.

-my shoes have always shown heavy signs of "pronation {sic?)" where my outer sole wears out faster than my inner sole but I got some running shows that are preventing this from happening or now. as a kid some doctor made me wear some stiff Nike's once and I can only imagine that it was due to the heavy pronation.

-using the ERG at the gym is weird since I have to exert myself to keep my legs straight when extending and retracting my legs.

sitting "Indian-style" was always uncomfortable for him.

-family is from central america

I have come to learn that male and female knees are quite different, not just by observation but through reading as well, but I have yet to find a male knee comparison that explains my knee-orientation.

hopefully someone can shed some light on this...🙂

Having shoes that wear on the outer edge is a sign of excessive supination, not pronation.

Based on your description of your knee issues, I'd guess that you have pretty weak hip adductors. I can't say whether that would impact your supination issues.

thanks; is this a normal occurrence?

Your knees should track outwards to their respective sides a bit. As to what degree is normal and not I am not sure.

Nike's are mainly for 'neutral' runners. You may have been given a special pair but I am not aware of this.

When you squat your knees should track outwardes over your toes. Your toes should be pointing at 10 and 2. Your toes should ponit outwards a bit and your heels should be a bit further then shoulder width.

It's Football and not Soccer! I a freakishly fast and nimble on my feet. I am like a cat!
