Make Your Own Case?

How many of you have made your own cases? I was wondering what this entails and if there are any sites or faqs on it. I want to cut costs and make a individual and unique case.

Thanks

you sure as h*ll ain't gonna 'cut costs'! how much do you value your time at? individual & unique is the correct attitude to approach a DIY case project with! just follow links to custom cases that others' have built, figure out which mods look 'right' to your own eyes, come up with a plan for action, commence buildin!
PS, it helps if you have a shop full of tools and skills that would pay you about 75K a year as a fabricator(if you could find an employer that appreciated those skills as much as you do!)

check 'cool case gallerys' at the many moddin' websites out there.

here's a good start - Virtual Hideout - go to the CCG Front Page

Custom built cases, like almost anything else custom built, will costs more and take a lot of time to build. If you want to build anything beyond a simple, patchwork box, I wouldn't recommend it unless you had access to a workshop. If a simple box is all you require, acrylic clear cases are popular right now and can be built relatively easily. Here's one article for an MP3 box.

Not when it is a cardboard box 🙂

Sorry, I should have added an 'usually'. I actually have a pizza-box case which cost me about $.05 in glue to build 😀.

LOL! Hmmm, I think we (me and some friends) were laughing about the possibility of a cardboard case before... perhaps I should try it, hehe. I once used cardboard boxes with some car speakers for my home stereo years ago... I was broke 🙂

I made mine out of legos. 🙂 all in one unit.

7500 aiw for all viewing pleasure and a 15" fp. looks pritty good.
